A new Deputy Head of School for the new year A message from Dr Neill As Head leading this one school, there is a need to have an individual alongside me who can deputise with an eye across the entire School from ages 3 -18. I am pleased to let you know that the Council of Governors have approved that Mr Tony Richards become Deputy Head of School with immediate effect. Mr Richards will continue in his role as Head of Nursery to Junior Schools and, through increased employment of some members of staff in the Early Years and Junior Departments to release some of his time, will work more closely alongside me in every department of the School - visiting lessons and meeting with teaching staff, department and senior managers and business support staff. Mr Richards will be able to represent me at every level in school and across our wider Clifton High community.

Mr Tony Richards and Dr Alison Neill with Mr Guy Cowper, Director of Operations

This shared management and joint vision at Head and Deputy Head level, while continuing to work closely with Mr Cowper, our Director of Operations, will enable better communication with staff and support a more consistent approach throughout the School. It will allow both Mr Richards and myself greater visibility and contact with the pupils, staff and the rest of our community on a daily basis. I am sure you will join me in congratulating Mr Richards on his new role as we look forward to the rest of 2013.
