2022 - 2023
The Clifton High School Foundation and Clifton Rosarians
SIXTH FORM BREAKFASTS

We launched a series of Sixth Form Breakfasts inviting Clifton Rosarians back to school to share their experiences of life after Sixth Form, Higher Education and Careers From volunteering at events, to supporting our students through careers and peer mentoring, our Clifton Rosarians demonstrate that your Clifton High journey does not end when you leave School, for many, it’s just the start of a very special relationship.

PERCIVAL GIFT SCHEME
When Clifton High School opened its doors in 1877, the first pupil on the register was Elizabeth (Bessie) Percival. The School instilled in Bessie a passion for art; she became an accomplished artist in oils and water colours, exhibiting many of her works at the Royal Academy
Her legacy continues in our Percival Gift Scheme, which we launched in Spring 2022. The Scheme supports strategic projects across the whole School and enables us to provide bursaries in the Senior School and Sixth Form.
Collective giving in this way assures our community, parents, friends and the Clifton Rosarians of the benefit their donations have made and continue to make to the School and its pupils.
A huge thank you to all those parents who signed up to the Scheme through the Spring Term’s bill supporting our pupils now and for generations to come

GRANDPARENTS’ DAY
We were delighted to host our annual Grandparents’ Tea and Cake in our Main Hall to celebrate Grandparents’ Day in October. Pupils from across the School enjoyed sharing activities with their Grandparents and, in turn they found out what they had been up to in School recently. Our families play a huge part in the life of our School and it is a pleasure to welcome you to School events across the year.

CHEESE AND WINE EVENING
Over 120 guests enjoyed an evening of tutored Cheese and Wine tasting in the Autumn term for a fundraising event to support the Foundation.

The School was full of festive fun when our annual Christmas Fair heralded the start of the festive season at Clifton High. Over 1,000 pupils and family members enjoyed a range of festive activities across the School site and raised an amazing £6.400 for the Foundation.
FOUNDATION PIANO CONCERT
A huge thank you to our amazing pianists and Dr Ikuko Inoguchi. our Musician in Residence who delighted invited guests and Clifton High families at our annual Foundation Piano Concert.
Thanks to a generous legacy gift, we have been able to purchase new pianos across the School, including the grand piano in our Main Hall

FOUNDATION DAY 2023

Over 600 pupils and staff took part in a colour run at Coombe Dingle to celebrate our first Foundation Day in March 2023. Parents and staff then took part in a quiz and curry night during the evening with all funds raised supporting the Foundation. Pupils also learnt about projects across the School, from our bursary programme to the School’s swimming pool, which have all been possible thanks to donations and philanthropic gifts.
ROSARIAN DAY 2023
We were delighted to welcome back over 70 Clifton Rosarians for our first Rosarian Day in March. All our guests had a tour of the site, including our new Sixth Form Centre, an update on the School and afternoon tea in the Main Hall.

SUMMER BBQ
In July, over 150 families joined us on the most glorious sunny day for an afternoon of fun at the School’s Summer BBQ.

The Class of 1981 held a very special reunion over Rose Day weekend. We hosted a Rose Dinner for them at School the evening before, and they were guests of honour at the School’s service in Bristol Cathedral the following day.

here was much catching up to be done, plenty of laughs and lots of reminiscing.
