LETTER FROM THE ASSOCIATE PUBLISHER

W

e are officially at the end of summer and welcoming fall. While we may not have the same type of fall that those in our northern states enjoy, we do have our own version of this season. We still enjoy our pumpkin spice latte, but we sip it while sitting on the beach. We decorate our homes and businesses, but we probably won’t be using heavy blankets. Our wardrobe does change ever so slightly with the addition of lightweight scarves, jeans, sweaters draped casually over our shoulders and perhaps socks with our shoes. We all love this season that includes the start of the southern migration of our northern guests and seasonal residents. Our temps will most likely be in the 74-80-degree average range during the day and 70-74 in the evening. Our restaurants will be filled in the evenings with friends we haven’t seen all summer, the outdoor patios bright with hanging lights. Residents and visitors alike will be enjoying long walks on the beach as the sun sets. We love summer but we certainly welcome fall and all that it brings. I invite you to linger within these pages while you read about the wonderful home on our cover. The centerpiece of the kitchen is the oversized furniture style island, it’s wood base contrasting nicely with the blond butcherblock counter top. The island features a copper vegetable sink with soft nickel finished spigot. The ceiling features wood beams with a wrought iron and copper chandelier over the kitchen table. Warm cherry wood cabinetry extends throughout the large kitchen, a perfect setting for the large farmhouse sink. Stunning craftsmanship has created a cove like area of rich wood protecting the Chef’s grade gas stove, oven and pot washer. The brick backsplash above the stove has decorative tiles and practically hidden cupboards, perfect for your spices and olive oils. The butler’s pantry continues the Mediterranean theme in it’s cabinets and backsplash. The fireplace services both the kitchen and the family room, acting as a divider for the two rooms. The ample family room features an arched pecky cypress ceiling with large beams and wood trimmed French doors leading to the outside. Both rooms also feature the marble with creamy swirls of brown and tan that perfectly match all the wood in the home.

A den is made more interesting with a combination coffered ceiling and textured grass cloth wallpaper. The creamy ivory builtins include a wet bar with soft lighting, and bookcases. Glowing wood floors complete the look and feel of a cozy space for reading or watching TV. No home can be considered complete without a craft or sewing room, perfect for spurring those creations. This room makes completing any project easier with its custom built-ins. A wall of windows gives this room ample natural lighting. The downstairs master suite, taking up the western wing of the home, is what peaceful nights and sweet dreams are made of. The creamy blue walls and white trim are a perfect contrast to the wood floors. One’s eyes are drawn to the sitting area and the large French windows that overlook the lush outdoor landscaping.
