A message from Sir Dan, our CEO

This year, the Harris Federation was named ‘Large Trust of the Year’ at the Tes Awards.

It is a reflection of the extraordinary commitment and professionalism of our staff – but also of what is made possible by the support of our partners.

Your investment in our mission is felt every day. It is present in our classrooms, our sports halls, in our music rooms, in the quiet conversation between a mentor and a student planning their future.

Your generosity turns ambition into opportunity. It changes lives. Thank you for being part of this work.

Sir Dan Moynihan, CEO

Spotlight on our Community: Harris Community Hubs

Our Harris Community Hubs programme has grown rapidly, helping schools meet the needs of their most vulnerable families.

At Harris, we know that learning doesn’t happen in isolation. If a child is hungry, worried about bills at home or without a warm coat, it’s much harder for them to flourish at school.

That’s why we’ve launched Community Hubs across our academies - welcoming spaces that offer practical help, build trust and strengthen the bonds between schools and the families we serve. They’re not just about meeting immediate needs – they’re about giving every child the stability to focus on their education and future.’

Through generous donor support, we have equipped hubs with:

• Uniform and hygiene banks

• Clothes washing facilities, in some instances

• Food provision and wraparound care

This year, valued partners like Barings, The Felix Project and City Hygiene Bank enabled:

• Distribution of tens of thousands of essential hygiene products

• A ready supply of fresh fruit and veg, and healthy main meals

• Uniform, toys, clothes, games and books

Philanthropy in action:

This spring, we were delighted to welcome the Wolfson Foundation to Harris Academy Merton.

“ I was struck by the confidence and warmth of the students, and by the sense of momentum and ambition at the school.”

Powering passions: Supporters bringing Science to life

The visit was a powerful opportunity for students and staff to demonstrate the real-world impact of capital funding: showcasing how state-of-the-art science laboratories at both Harris Academy Merton and Harris Academy Battersea are transforming teaching and learning.

At both schools, more than 50% of students receive Free School Meals. These facilities rival those found in leading independent schools, ensuring that our students can access the highestquality resources, develop scientific confidence and pursue ambitious futures in medicine, engineering and research.

Sport and music take centre stage!

Our Federation-wide Sports Days returned this year with bigger ambitions than ever – turbocharged by the generosity of supporters, creating an unforgettable day for every student.

Across our primary and secondary Sports Days:

• Over £2,700 of sports vouchers were awarded to students

• Thousand of sports kits generously sponsored by sports retailer MandM

• Thousands of pounds of additional support was provided, including van hire, overnight staff accommodation, and branded merch for our student sportspeople!

“Events like this level the playing field – students from any background feel celebrated.”

“Everyone had something: a kit, a medal, a moment. That matters - this is what our students remember.”

Music, too, has been turbocharged by our partners

Over £400,000 worth of instruments has now been awarded to Harris schools from Restore the Music and the Foyle Foundation.

One student at Harris Academy Tottenham described their music lessons this year as “the best part of the week.”

This culminated in our first-ever Festival of Music at Fairfield Halls: a spectacular celebration featuring students from all 55 academies. It marked the debut of the panFederation orchestra, once an ambitious dream and now a powerful symbol of what’s possible when music is taken seriously at scale. The evening showcased not just talent, but the confidence, joy and aspiration that grow when every student has access to high-quality instruments, training and performance opportunities.

Primary Outcomes

This year, Harris academies once again outperformed national benchmarks, delivering exceptional academic results and securing some of the strongest Ofsted outcomes in the country.

At primary level:

78% of Harris pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths (RWM), compared to just 62% nationally: a testament to the relentless ambition of our staff and the support structures donors help us sustain.

Good Level of Development (EYFS)

Phonics Screening Check (Year 1)

Key Stage 2 (Year 6)

We are so grateful to our donors and partners for giving our primary pupils experiences they will never forget.

From first nights away to first visits to the seaside, many of these experiences – and the possibilities they bring to life for our students – would not be possible without your support. Thank you.

Top-performing academies at Year 2 SATs included:

These results show the consistency of high-quality teaching and curriculum implementation across a diverse set of school contexts.

Ofsted inspection outcomes (2024–25)

Our primaries and secondaries were proud to receive nine full Ofsted inspections this year: eight of which were Outstanding in every category!

Inspectors consistently praised our culture of high expectations, excellent behaviour, and ambitious teaching: 100% of our academies are rated Good, and compared to just 17% nationally, over 80% are rated Outstanding.

In the last 26 Ofsted inspections, since March 2024:

84% of grades were Outstanding

(65 out of 77)

The other 12 grades were all Good with 4 of these being judged ‘Good Might be Outstanding’ –meriting a re-inspection.

These results show what’s possible when strong leadership, skilled teaching and a clear vision work hand in hand. They’re proof that with the right support and ambition, excellence can be achieved - and sustained - in every community we serve.
