Our aim at Stanborough School is to nurture enquiring minds and inspire our students to pursue their dreams and leave the school ready to excel.

We want to be an outstanding school in every sense of the word and give our students the best possible education.

Our curriculum is broad and challenging and our teaching is inspiring, instilling a lifelong love of learning. We also care passionately about the development of character. We place a strong emphasis on outstanding

behaviour and equipping our students with the standards and values they need in society.

Our school is a community, a place where people are proud to work and where parents want to send their children.

I am extremely proud of our pupils and it has been a privilege to lead Stanborough since September 2018.

High Expectations

Our staff expect the very best and go above and beyond to deliver high quality teaching and learning to help students achieve.

We expect the highest standards of behaviour and have a clear system of rewards and sanctions. Strong partnerships with parents and carers plays a central role in every child’s success.

Our aim is to encourage students to achieve their potential. We set the bar high and encourage high aspirations for all.

A Broad

Our diverse and varied curriculum ignites student interest and our outstanding facilities bring learning to life.

We are proud to have strong English, Science and Maths departments and promote academic excellence in these core subjects.

Our students can study the full suite of Performing Arts subjects, alongside Computing, Technology, Art and PE.

Our broad and inclusive curriculum meets the needs of every child, whether they are heading to college, university or the world of work.

Outside the Classroom

At Stanborough we believe in success beyond the classroom.

That is why we offer an exceptional programme of extra-curricular activities designed to help our students become well-rounded young people.

Whether it be sport, performing arts or our wide range of clubs and activities, there is something for everyone at Stanborough.

Pupils value the range of pupil leadership opportunities such as student council ‘form reps’. They appreciate the diverse range of extra-curricular opportunities. This includes robotics club, school teams and international trips.

Leaders have taken clear and effective action to ensure the school has improved since the last inspection.

for Every Student

Our range of strong support systems helps all our young people to achieve.

Each of our students has a dedicated tutor and pastoral team and we keep their progress on track with regular updates and parents’ evenings.

Promoting strong links between school and home, we encourage parents to be actively involved in their child’s education, for us, this is the key to academic success.

Additional assistance is always on hand if needed. Our learning support staff help students with self-confidence, social skills and any other obstacles to learning.

We know that every child is different and we work hard to provide an environment where every student can achieve and shine.

Wellbeing

Our form tutors play a vital role in supporting students and looking out for their all-round welfare. Throughout the school year, we host regular assemblies and life skills lessons and each year group has its own experienced team of pastoral care leaders. We pride ourselves on providing the right guidance and advice for students who need it. Our team of specialist support staff are always on hand.

Our emphasis on wellbeing means that students can learn effectively and play a full and active role in school life.

Pupils know staff will help if they have a worry or issue. They benefit from a range of effective support services, such as counselling and well-being support.

Students coming to Stanborough are supported by a strong year team who quickly help them to settle in and be successful at school.

Transition from primary to secondary school is very important and we liaise closely with all our primary feeder schools to learn about our new students. A smooth transfer is essential for happy students and quality learning.
