2024–2025 COMMUNITY
IMPACT REPORT
Every great city is shaped by the spirit, vision and courage of those determined to create an enduring impact. As we present the 2024-25 Rock Entertainment Group Community Impact Report, we are proud to share how our passion and purpose for city building and development in downtown Cleveland continue to move our region forward.
With deep gratitude, we recognize the extraordinary leadership and support of our Chairman, Dan Gilbert, and the entire Gilbert family. Their economic investment, now totaling over $1.1 billion dedicated to sports and entertainment infrastructure in Northeast Ohio, has redefined what’s possible for our downtown, igniting a wave of bold ideas and creative energy that is continuing to expand our footprint in Cleveland.
Powered by transformative projects like the Cuyahoga Riverfront Master Plan and Rock Block, along with soon-to-be-unveiled landmarks such as Cosm Cleveland and the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center, our city’s landscape is being reshaped in real time. Marking a major milestone for our city’s future, we recently announced the successful bid to welcome the WNBA back to Cleveland as the league’s 16th team, set to take the court in 2028. These achievements are creating exciting new destinations, opportunities and moments of joy that will benefit generations to come.
The pace of change is both exhilarating and humbling. Over the past year alone, Rocket Arena has hosted unforgettable, sold-out events. We’ve moved the needle on sustainability, expanded youth and wellness programming, supported food security initiatives, created safe spaces for our community and strengthened educational opportunities. These achievements are highlighted throughout this report, reflecting the powerful role of public-private partnerships and the dedicated commitment of countless individuals across the Greater Cleveland community.
On behalf of everyone at Rock Entertainment Group and our partners, thank you for being part of this remarkable journey. Your support and collaboration are what make our efforts real and meaningful. Together, we’re not only imagining a better future, we are creating it.
We appreciate you,

The building originally opened in 1915 as the home for The May Company department store, which operated there until 1993. After closing, the property was primarily vacant until it was acquired by Bedrock in 2017, who commenced an extensive historic restoration, seeking to restore the most definitive features, such as the iconic pediment clock and terra cotta façade. The May reopened for residents and guests in 2020.

The 3.5 million square foot master plan development will include 12 acres of publicly accessible space featuring parks, plazas, trails, a 3,000 foot riverwalk, open areas and waterfront access with year-round activities. Bedrock will advance the ambitious vision over the next 15 to 20 years. Construction began in 2023, with Bedrock delivering public infrastructure and the site work necessary to launch The Riverfront’s first vertical development, the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center, which broke ground in 2024. The Riverfront is an integral component of City of Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb’s transformational Shore-to-Core-to-Shore (SCS) plan. The SCS connects Cleveland’s core Downtown Business District and Neighborhood to its two waterfronts— the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie, through a series of urban spaces, parks, streets and plazas.
Rock Block

Through Shared Reality, Cosm connects people and brings them together by merging a stadium-like atmosphere with the energy of the crowd, elevated food and beverage options, and state-of-the-art visuals. Rock Block will join a number of entertainment, sports, retail and dining amenities in downtown’s Gateway District, headlined by the Rock Entertainment Groupoperated Rocket Arena.

CLEVELAND CLINIC GLOBAL PEAK PERFORMANCE CENTER

The Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center, scheduled to open in the spring of 2027, will set new standards for sports medicine and human performance through innovation, health and community engagement in downtown Cleveland. As the first vertical development of ‘The Riverfront’ and what will be one of the world’s largest and most advanced training and performance complexes, the performance center further elevates Northeast Ohio as a premier destination for elite athletic talent. Over the past year, the project has reached several significant milestones, reinforcing its role as a transformative anchor for the city’s riverfront revitalization and reflecting the Cavaliers’ commitment to excellence.
Breaking Ground
On October 14, 2024, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Clinic and Bedrock celebrated the groundbreaking of the Cavaliers’ new practice facility. The milestone signified the launch of a transformative era for Cleveland’s riverfront, setting in motion the development of the 210,000-squarefoot, Populous-designed performance center.
The event also marked a historic moment for the Cavaliers and Cleveland Clinic as the organizations announced a 25year extension of their long-standing partnership that began in 1993. The extension reflects the Cavaliers and Cleveland Clinic’s shared commitment to invest in and strengthen Cleveland’s position as a leader in both healthcare and sports excellence. The agreement extension, which begins during the 2026-27 season, solidifies the partnership as one of the longest continuous relationships between a professional sports organization and a medical provider.
Today’s groundbreaking of the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center is one of the first steps in transforming and revitalizing the Cuyahoga riverfront. Combining our practice facility with the sports medicine experts from the Cleveland Clinic means that not only will our players have access to the best possible care, but so will the residents of Cleveland and the surrounding areas –creating a multiplier effect that will benefit both the City and the Cavaliers.
– Dan Gilbert, Cleveland Cavaliers Chairman & Bedrock Founder and Chairman
Topping Off
On July 8, 2025, nearly nine months after breaking ground, project members, tradespeople, community leaders, and public officials gathered to celebrate the topping off of the performance center and the efforts of the tradespeople to reach the construction milestone. The event celebrated the placement of the final steel beam—symbolizing the completion of the building’s structural frame and the project’s steady progress to date.
Following construction tradition, the final 66-foot beam was lifted into place, adorned with an American flag and evergreen tree, symbolizing strength and longevity.
In addition to serving as the practice facility for the Cavaliers, the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center will provide comprehensive care for the general public, offering multidisciplinary team services in cardiology, neurology, nutrition, psychology and genetics.

CLEVELAND WNBA

The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) announced on June 30, 2025, that Cleveland, Ohio, will be home to the league's 16th team. WNBA Cleveland, set to begin play in the 2028 season, will be operated by Dan Gilbert’s sports and entertainment property, Rock Entertainment Group.
The team will play its home games at the renowned Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland, a state-of-the-art, 19,432seat arena that recently hosted the sold-out 2024 NCAA Women's Final Four. Additionally, Cleveland Clinic Courts will become the exclusive training and practice facility of the Cleveland WNBA team. Opened in September 2007 and located less than 10 miles south of Rocket Arena in Independence, OH, Cleveland Clinic Courts is a premier, 52,000-square-foot practice facility widely known as one of the top facilities in professional basketball.
The WNBA's return to Cleveland marks a pivotal moment for women's sports. Years from now, we will reflect on this day as a truly monumental point in Cleveland's sporting history. The passion, support, and continued commitment of our community for our professional sports teams played an integral role in making this possible. We're confident that this team will honor our city's enthusiastic support of women's sports, reinvigorate our WNBA fanbase and help cultivate the next generation of women's basketball enthusiasts and athletes.

CLEVELAND PUBLIC HALL
Ahead of the 2024-25 NBA G League season, REG and the City of Cleveland announced a multiyear agreement to move the Cleveland Charge, the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA G League affiliate, home to the historic Cleveland Public Hall. The civic landmark has been a fixture in Cleveland’s urban core for more than a century and hosted historic performances from artists such as the Beatles and Frank Sinatra. The Charge played their first home game at Public Hall on December 13, 2024, with a victory in front of a crowd of 5,000.
The Charge significantly invested in upgrading the back-ofhouse facilities and amenities in advance of playing at Public Hall. The venue's vast floor space, allowing for enhanced courtside seating and exclusive club experiences plus expanded fan zones and player access, has created one of the most unique locations to play and watch professional basketball around the country.
The relocation of Charge basketball to Public Hall reflects REG’s commitment to investing in downtown Cleveland. Along with Rocket Arena, the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center and Cosm, Public Hall is another integral part of REG’s downtown sports ecosystem.

I’m excited the Cavaliers continue to invest in downtown Cleveland, this time using the historic Public Auditorium (Hall) for its Cleveland Charge team. Not only are they investing millions in renovations but bringing life back to Public Auditorium which has been used for sporting events going back to at least 1936, when 11,000 watched boxer Joe Louis defeat Eddie Simms.

– Blaine A. Griffin Cleveland City Council President

BEDROCK'S RIVERFRONT MASTER PLAN
In September 2021, Bedrock and the City of Cleveland unveiled a comprehensive proposal to transform the Cuyahoga riverfront, connecting downtown and its residents and visitors through an approach prioritizing sustainability, equity and accessibility. The strategy sets the stage for historic development of a 15-minute, 18-hour city along the Cuyahoga River. In December 2022, Bedrock unveiled its comprehensive Riverfront Master Plan, a transformational 3.5-million-square-foot, transit-oriented development anchored by the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance
Center. The project will add housing, office, retail, commercial, hospitality and entertainment and more than 12 acres of publicly accessible parks and public space with direct connections to the riverfront. Linking shore to core, the plan connects Public Square to the riverfront through the creation of a new Tower City marketplace. Envisioned as an activated and unifying hub, this central spine will elevate the experience of daily commuters and spur opportunities for commerce and connection, with a focus on optimizing and enhancing transit and mobility.

This year’s event furthered the Gilbert family’s mission to fund research, raise awareness and build community support for those affected by NF.
The Cavaliers welcomed families living with NF and community supporters to “Gilly’s,” the new Rocket Arena space named in Nick’s honor, reinforcing a sense of support and shared purpose. By connecting aspiring athletes from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and four allgirls’ schools across Northeast Ohio with dynamic women professionals, this program opens doors to futures both on and off the court.
Interactive panels and networking sessions brought together women leaders from departments including Human Resources, Legal, Information Technology, Marketing, Sales and Graphic Design. These sessions didn’t just inform — they inspired, with team members sharing firsthand stories of navigating their unique professional journeys. Vision board workshops, tailored for 11th and 12th grade students, encouraged participants to dream big, map their goals and take practical steps toward their futures.
Students also benefited from peer networking across districts and hands-on development in areas like public speaking and personal brand building, guided by women mentors who shared real-world insights and served as relatable role models. Notably, two participants were selected for the Senior Experience program, directly advancing their interest in sports industry careers. With a long-term vision to increase female representation in the sports industry, the Working Women in Sports Program is dedicated to increasing female representation and leadership in the sports industry.

Monsters Youth Hockey
Monsters Youth Hockey is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of hockey players and creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for youth and families across Northeast Ohio.
Mini Monsters Learn to Play
In its inaugural year, the Mini Monsters Learn to Play program welcomed more than 200 children to the ice – many for the very first time – teaching core skills while nurturing valuable qualities like sportsmanship, teamwork and personal confidence. Launched in partnership with Winterhurst Ice Arena and the Ohio Hockey Project, the initiative reflects the Cleveland Monsters’ commitment to youth development and expanding grassroots hockey in Northeast Ohio.
Floor Hockey presented by Perani’s
By teaming up with Perani's, the Monsters brought hockey directly into five Cleveland schools. Each participating school received a comprehensive kit, complete with sticks, balls, pinnies and goals, alongside a thoughtfully crafted curriculum, sparking interest in both Learn to Skate and Mini Monsters programs. Building on this momentum, this initiative will continue to expand each year, introducing the game to four to six additional schools annually.
Goals for Gear driven by Lexus
In partnership with Lexus, every Cleveland Monsters goal during the 2024–25 season became a win for the community. Our Goals for Gear campaign pledged $10 for each goal scored, benefiting the Monsters Community Foundation. These funds provided much-needed hockey and basketball equipment to local youth and supported meaningful projects, such as renovating the recreation room at the Journey Center for Safety and Healing, ensuring every child has a safe place to play and grow.
Lasting Impact
In just one season, over 1,300 young athletes strengthened their skills through our Learn to Play and youth hockey clinics, while more than 1,800 kids experienced the thrill of the Rink of Dreams. Each program is a testament to our belief that hockey is a catalyst for confidence, community and lifelong potential.

Bringing Cleveland to the World
Through the Cavs in Brazil initiative, the Cleveland Cavaliers continue to expand their global footprint by leveraging basketball as a platform for community development, youth empowerment and social inclusion.
In April 2025, in partnership with Eaton Corporation, the Cavaliers renovated a basketball court in Parque dos Macaquinhos, Caxias do Sul. In a community working to recover from severe flooding, this new court now stands as a vibrant sports hub, addressing urgent needs for safe, shared spaces and strengthening local resilience. This project marks the Cavaliers fifth court renovation in Brazil since 2023 and their second collaboration with Eaton Corporation, further amplifying the team’s long-term commitment to community development through global partnerships. These efforts include inclusive programming such as youth clinics and Special Olympics events, extending opportunities to athletes of all abilities and strengthening long-term community partnerships.
By investing in infrastructure and meaningful social activations, the Cavaliers are not only growing the game of basketball internationally but also building resilient, connected communities and demonstrating the power of sports to drive positive, sustainable change well beyond Northeast Ohio.
