Academic Success Volunteer Position Description Title: Academic Success Volunteer Reports To: Club Director/Volunteer Engagement Manager Program Dates & Time: September - May, Monday - Thursday, 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. Commitment: 1 hour per week (minimum) September - May. Day/time will be the same every week to maintain consistency. Purpose of this role: Provide in-person academic support throughout the school year, including tutoring, STEM projects, reading, and more. Grades Served: K - 12th Duties/Responsibilities: Support members by reading books, working on sight words, and facilitating fun and engaging, literacy driven, educational games Assist with homework help Help facilitate STEM projects Support teens as they write college essays Help create a productive and focused environment Complete Volunteer Onboarding process Notify Club Director when unable to attend during scheduled hours

Ideal volunteer: 18+ years of age, or if a minor, accompanied by an adult/guardian Reliable and committed to volunteering on a weekly basis Passion for helping children and youth with their academic career Has previous tutoring experience Can work in noisy environments Sensitivity to cultural differences Patience and ability to explain concepts clearly
