

MUSIC EDUCATION
A degree in Music Education equips you to be licensed to teach music in K-12 schools. You can open the world of music to students of all ages, helping them learn the fundamentals of music creation for instruments and voice along with cultural knowledge like music history.

Education
students.
The School of Music (SOM) works closely with other performing arts departments and the greater community to offer you unique and rewarding experiences. You will have the chance to perform through ensembles and participate in music education conferences. Your instructors are proven musicians (Cleveland Orchestra, recording artists and engineers, and awarded scholars) and experienced K-12 educators.
You will start building your professional network from the very first day as you work with area music educators during classroom experiences including a full semester of student teaching.
The SOM also offers talent-based music scholarships to qualified in-coming first-year students, transfer students and current students regardless of major in return for participation in formal School of Music ensembles. opportunities
