Clemson - It had been two years since a Tiger had hit three home runs in one game, but John Hinson pulled the trick against USC Upstate at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on April 21, 2010 in a game the Tigers won 22-4. He went 5-for-6 with three home runs and seven RBIs in the game. He hit a solo home run in the second inning, a three-run homer in the third inning and another three-run home run in the sixth inning.

Clemson - Brooks Shumake hit a homer and four singles and Jimmy Key added two doubles and three singles against Georgia Southern at Statesboro, Ga. on May 13, 1982 in a game Clemson won 25-5.

Clemson - Five Tigers combined to pitch Clemson’s first no-hitter in 25 years in the Tigers’ 14-0 victory over USC Upstate at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on March 18, 2009. Justin Sarratt, Scott Weismann, Kyle Deese, Tomas Cruz and Matt Vaughn combined to allow just two baserunners and faced only one batter over the minimum in the game.

Opponent - Georgia Tech first-baseman Luke Murton hit three home runs and totaled seven RBIs against the Tigers in the ACC Tournament at Jacksonville, Fla. in the second game of a doubleheader on May 27, 2006. Batting in the sixth spot in the lineup, Murton led off the seventh inning with a solo home run. In the eighth inning, Murton hit a two-run homer, then he belted a grand slam in the ninth inning. Therefore, Murton hit three home runs in three straight innings. The Tigers were victorious, however, by a score of 16-11.

4 HITS BY 3 PLAYERS Clemson - This last occurred at Maryland on April 20, 2003, exactly 18 years to the day that it happened last by a Tiger trio. Herman Demmink hit four singles, Kyle Frank went 5-for-5 with four runs and four RBIs, and David Slevin went 4-for-6 with five RBIs in Clemson’s 20-5 victory. Frank also became just the third Tiger in history to register two home runs in the same inning when he did so in the second inning. Opponent - Georgia Tech accomplished this feat for the first time by a Tiger opponent in 13 years on April 18, 2010 in Atlanta. Three Yellow Jackets had at least four hits in the 11-3 win over Clemson. Jeff Rowland had four hits, three RBIs and three runs, Tony Plagman had four hits, two RBIs and two runs, and Jacob Esch had four hits, one RBI and two runs.

Opponent - South Carolina’s Derick Urquhart totaled five hits and Ryan Bordenick added six hits, as the Gamecocks defeated Clemson by a score of 38-16 in Columbia, S.C. on April 23, 1997. It was the first time since 1980 that two opposing players accomplished this feat.

BACK-TO-BACK HOME RUNS Clemson - John Hinson and Richie Shaffer hit back-to-back homers against Alabama at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on June 13, 2010. In the third inning, Hinson hit a one-out, solo homer. Shaffer followed with a solo homer in Clemson’s 19-5 win. Opponent - Shaun Chase (three-run homer) and Tyler Baumgartner of Oregon hit back-to-back homers with two outs in the fourth inning in the Ducks’ 18-1 win in Nashville, Tenn. on May 30, 2014.

CYCLE BY 1 PLAYER Clemson - Gary Burnham performed the elusive feat at TexasArlington on Feb. 18, 1995. Burnham had a double in the first inning, a triple in the third, walked in the fifth, struck out in the sixth, hit a three-run homer in the seventh and completed the cycle with a single in the ninth inning. He added four RBIs and scored four runs. Opponent - Chris Pittaro of North Carolina in Chapel Hill on March 21, 1981 had a double in the first, a single in the second, a home run in the third and a triple in the sixth, along with two RBIs. North Carolina defeated the Tigers by a score of 10-7.

GRAND SLAM

Clemson - Spencer Kieboom went 5-for-5 with two RBIs and one run in Clemson’s 11-8 win at Georgia Tech on April 29, 2012.

Clemson - Weston Wilson hit a grand slam with two outs in the fourth inning to help Clemson defeat Virginia Tech 12-2 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on March 8, 2014.

Opponent - Georgia Tech’s Zane Evans went 6-for-6 with two homers, one double, four RBIs and four runs against the Tigers at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on April 27, 2013.

Opponent - Grayson Greiner of South Carolina hit a grand slam in Columbia, S.C. on Feb. 28, 2014. The grand slam came with one out in the fifth inning in a game South Carolina won 9-6.

Opponent - Auburn’s Dana Becton and Ken Deriso combined to no-hit Clemson for the first time in almost 16 years on March 11, 1979 at Auburn. Becton pitched the first six innings and struck out seven batters, while Deriso hurled the last three innings and struck out four batters. Clemson lost the game by a score of 10-1, as the Tigers scored a run on two errors and a passed ball.

SHUTOUT BY 1 PITCHER Clemson - Daniel Gossett pitched a shutout when he blanked Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind. on May 10, 2014. He allowed four hits and one walk with 11 strikeouts in the Tigers’ 8-0 win. Opponent - Andrew Suarez of Miami (Fla.) went the distance against Clemson at Coral Gables, Fla. on April 21, 2013. He allowed six hits and no walks with five strikeouts in a game Miami won 7-0.

TRIPLE PLAY Clemson - Clemson completed its first triple play in 24 years against George Mason on Feb. 26, 1995 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Mark Watson gave up a leadoff walk to Joey Goodwin in the fourth inning, which was followed by a single by Ron Pennell. Brendan Pickett hit a line shot to first-baseman David Miller, who stepped on first to double off Pennell and threw to Seth Brizek at second, and the throw beat Goodwin for the third out. The Tigers won 9-3. Opponent - Dan Griffin, Matt Robinson and Rick Figueredo of Florida State combined for a triple play on March 2, 1983 in Tallahassee. After Bob Paulling singled and Craig Roberson walked to open the second inning, Jamie Swanner grounded to Griffin, who forced Paulling at third. Griffin threw to Robinson, forcing Roberson at second, and Robinson relayed to Figueredo at first for the putout on Swanner. The teams battled to a 3-3 tie in 10 innings.
