FELLOW TIGERS,

Since 1934, IPTAY has consistently been a leader in intercollegiate athletics fundraising, made possible by the grassroots efforts of the Clemson Family. The mission of IPTAY has remained consistent: providing an elite academic and athletic experience for each studentathlete who proudly wears the Paw. More than 90 years later, the support has expanded, but the mission remains unchanged.

Our IPTAY family’s support has aided the Clemson Tigers’ continued success. Athletic scholarships, the Nieri Family Student-Athlete Enrichment Center, new and upgraded facilities, nutrition services, strength and conditioning, Tiger Band, and more are what each dollar raised by IPTAY goes to support. Because of this commitment, IPTAY can provide Clemson student-athletes with one of the best experiences in college athletics.

As college athletics continues to evolve and the support of IPTAY expands, your generosity is more important now than ever. I encourage you to join the team behind our teams and support the “One-IPTAY” enterprise. Your support is and continues to be a differencemaker in what we do. The IPTAY Board, our staff, and I are dedicated to doing everything possible to ensure the funding of Clemson Athletics will be sustained for years to come.

On behalf of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and athletic administration, I want to personally thank you for all that you have done and will continue to do to support our program. You are an important member of our team, and I greatly appreciate your commitment to our cause.

A s always, GO TIGERS !

IS THE HEART OF CLEMSON UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS

NO ONE CAN RESIST THE DRAW OF A PACKED VENUE — Solid Orange — the Clemson Tigers ready to take on their opponent. The band, the roar, the pride, the excitement. It’s all a part of what makes Clemson Athletics so special to fans, alumni and studentathletes.

In 1934 Clemson had just been defeated 6-0 by The Citadel, and it was not the only defeat that year. Fans were despondent. Joe Davis, Frank Jervey and Peter Hefner asked then-Coach Jess Neely how much money it would take for him to put out a good

team. He replied that he thought he could do it with $10,000 a year.

The group decided to ask team supporters for $50 a year, but that amount proved to be too much in the middle of the Great Depression. But Rupert Fike met with other Clemson alums and penned the letter to Coach Neely that officially got the ball rolling: “Dear Coach, last night we had a little meeting at my house and organized the IPTAY Club.”

IN THE 21ST CENTURY

IPTAY provides millions of dollars in support for 21 varsity sports and various other programs that enrich the lives of Clemson student-athletes.

For decades, scholarship funding for student-athletes has been a primary IPTAY funding initiative, and over time the scholarship cost for Clemson student-athletes has increased significantly. This cost also includes room and board, fees, and other expenses to the University tuition costs. It is important to note that the IPTAY scholarship expense varies annually due to a variety of factors, including the number of scholarships awarded, the ratio of in-state versus out-of-state students, summer school attendance, and major-specific fees.

WHAT WE SUPPORT

STUDENT-ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIPS

Each academic year, IPTAY is responsible for funding all student-athlete scholarships. IPTAY also provides the largest academic endowment ($10.3M) on campus to the general student body.

ATHLETICS FACILITIES

In order to place our coaches and student-athletes in the best position to succeed, it is important that we are able to provide them with both new and upgraded facilities. This enables our coaches to recruit and train the best and brightest young men and women at the highest level.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT

The Nieri Family Student-Athlete Enrichment Center provides resources such as tutoring and mentors for all of our 575+ student-athletes so that they may succeed in the classroom.

WAYS TO GIVE

IPTAY ANNUAL

IPTAY annual members are the rock-solid foundation that has served the University for more than 90 years. Every year, hundreds of Clemson student-athletes — and a number of non-athletes — benefit from support provided by IPTAY.

These funds make academic enrichment and life-skills training available for student-athletes and cover annual operating expenses and discretionary initiatives such as capital projects.

IPTAY MAJOR GIFTS

Clemson depends on the generosity and foresight of donors to build and maintain collegiate athletic excellence. Gifts that build an endowment and support major facilities and large-scale initiatives leave a lasting legacy and are vital to the future and the quality of athletics at the University. Major gifts may be in the form of cash, real estate, securities, gifts-in-kind and any number of other options.

IPTAY LEGACY (GIFT PLANNING)

$27,909.09

Planned gifts are a means of ensuring that the priorities of IPTAY continue for years to come. These visionary gifts ensure that opportunities exist for future generations of student-athletes through bequests, life insurance, charitable gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, charitable remainder trusts and a number of other instruments that continue long into the future.

2025 MEMBERSHIP LEVELS & BENEFITS

The IPTAY Priority Points rewards system is another way of rewarding the loyalty of IPTAY donors. Developed in an effort to reward gift amounts and long-term support in the distribution of tickets, seating, and parking, priority points are also used for tickets to bowl games, the College Football Playoff, the ACC Basketball Tournament, and all road games.

Priority Points are determined by a formula that utilizes both loyalty and contribution levels as shown in the chart below.

PRIORITY POINTS

FOOTBALL SEAT EQUITY PLAN

In 2008, Clemson joined the other top-20 FBS football attendance leaders in adding a preferred seating component to its annual giving program. Under the plan, season ticket holders who give at or above the specified per-seat values qualify for specific seating in Memorial Stadium.

The initiative has enhanced annual support for student-athletes at Clemson and has given our athletic programs the resources they need to compete at the highest level, both in the classroom and in athletic competition. All season tickets in Memorial Stadium available for purchase require a per-seat donation. Minimum perseat donations for specific seating in Memorial Stadium can be seen in the adjacent map. These donor requirements have been determined and endorsed by the IPTAY Board of Directors and the Clemson University Athletic Department.

SEAT EQUITY PLAN EQUATION:

IPTAY SEAT VALUE X NUMBER OF SEATS = REQUIRED IPTAY DONATION

As a reminder, the maximum number of season tickets an IPTAY Donor is eligible to purchase each season is determined by your IPTAY annual giving level. Please refer to the chart below for exact quantities. When the initial IPTAY Seat Equity Plan was announced and implemented in 2008 and modified in 2013 and 2017, one component of the plan permitted periodic marketplace review of the values of each section of seating in Memorial Stadium. The diagram to the right shows the current per-seat donations implemented during the IPTAY 2023 year.

SEASON TICKET ELIGIBILITY PER IPTAY GIVING LEVEL

Paw ($60): 0 Tickets Purple ($200): 2 Tickets

IPTAY PER-SEAT DONATION

SEAT EQUITY: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DOES THE PLAN EFFECT LIFE AND ENDOWMENT?

As done in 2008, 2013, and 2017, modifying the IPTAY Seat Equity Plan will allow life donors to purchase the seats outlined in their respective life donor agreements about the specific IPTAY giving level. These seats in the life donor agreement will not be affected. However, seats purchased above and beyond the life donor’s agreed-upon number (included in the agreement) will be impacted by the modification of the IPTAY Seat Equity Plan.

HOW DOES THE PLAN AFFECT CLEMSON FACULTY AND STAFF MEMBERS?

Current Clemson faculty and staff members who purchase football season tickets receive a $200 credit towards an IPTAY membership, which may be applied to the modification of the IPTAY Seat Equity Plan. If the faculty/staff member already maintains an IPTAY donor level, $200 will be credited to their current donor level upon the purchase of football season tickets.

DOES THE PLAN MEAN THAT EVERYONE IN YOUR SECTION PAYS THE SAME AMOUNT OF

MONEY?

A misconception when we use the term “equity” is that each IPTAY donor sitting next to another IPTAY donor is donating the same amount as the other. This is true in some cases, but many other factors contribute to this not being exact. The quantity of tickets is the main factor, as well as the parking the donors request. The per-seat donation that IPTAY requires is the minimum donors can contribute to renew their seats.

Many IPTAY donors contribute more than the required donation. However, one must consider all the factors, including parking priority, seat locations, and, most critically, that each donation supports the mission of IPTAY.

AWAY-GAME & POSTSEASON

TICKET INFORMATION

WHY IS THE SEAT EQUITY PLAN IMPORTANT?

The preferred seating component within IPTAY is vital to the IPTAY annual fund. The funds generated by the IPTAY Seat Equity Plan go directly to supporting Clemson student-athletes through athletic scholarships, new and upgraded facilities, academic support, strength & conditioning, nutrition services, and more. These dollars continue to be critical in IPTAY’s efforts to provide the necessary resources for all student-athletes to be top competitors in the classroom and athletic competition amidst the rising costs associated with intercollegiate athletics.

WILL THE IPTAY SEAT EQUITY PLAN BE REQUIRED BEYOND 2025?

Yes. The IPTAY Seat Equity Plan works in conjunction with your annual IPTAY contribution and will be necessary for your season ticket renewal or purchase each year. Also, the donation levels and seat values associated with each specific section may be revised to address the future needs of IPTAY and the Clemson University Athletic Department. The IPTAY Board and the athletic department review the IPTAY Seat Equity Plan each year.

DO I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ANNUAL IPTAY SEAT EQUITY PLAN TO KEEP MY SEASON TICKET LOCATION?

Yes. The IPTAY Seat Equity Plan is required to renew football season tickets. Please note all seating areas within Memorial Stadium have an associated per-seat value.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT MY PARKING ASSIGNMENT?

Parking is reassigned annually using each donor’s annual giving level and IPTAY Priority Point total. As donors decide to increase their giving to retain seats or to request seat improvements, parking assignments may be affected.

Away-game and postseason tickets are allocated based on IPTAY Priority Points. For some away games, a priority point cutoff, as well as ticket limits, may be put in place to give as many IPTAY donors as possible the opportunity to purchase tickets. If the number of requests received for an away game exceeds the available ticket allotment, those who do not meet the point requirement will be notified and refunded the purchase price.

However, continuing this tradition of excellence requires teamwork, and now more than ever, we need you to be part of the team.

I am deeply grateful for all you have done and continue to do as a valued member of IPTAY. Clemson is a special place because of people like you—people who have made Clemson synonymous with excellence in collegiate athletics.

GO TIGERS!

SUPPORTING STUDENT-ATHLETES SINCE 1934!

COMPLIANCE: ASK BEFORE YOU ACT

Clemson University continues to have great successes on and off the playing field thanks to your support of Clemson Athletics. However, in order to represent the University in the most positive manner, coaches, staff, student-athletes, alumni, IPTAY members and fans must adhere to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, the ACC and the University. The NCAA requires each member institution to have “institutional control” and to operate its intercollegiate athletics programs in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations. This means that Clemson University is responsible for your actions. Violations of NCAA rules, regardless of your intentions, can jeopardize a student-athlete’s opportunity to attend and compete for Clemson University. Violations also result in severe penalties for the University and the individual booster involved. If you have any questions or believe you have seen a violation of an NCAA rule, please contact Compliance Services at 864-656-1580 or compliance-L@clemson.edu.
