Josh Fickes In High School: Comes to Clemson from Beaufort High School in South Carolina where he played for Brook Dixon….won the South Carolina Golf Association Junior Championship at the Country Club of Lexington when he made a 10-foot birdie putt on the last hole…..shot a six-under-par 210 for the event…also tied for third at the Carolinas Junior at High Point and was a quarterfinalist at the Carolinas Golf Association Junior Match Play….teamed with another junior golfer to win the South Carolina Junior Golf Association Four Ball in October of 2013 when he made a birdie on the second playoff hole….current Clemson golfers Austin Langdale and Carson Young won that event in 2011…..qualified for the Georgia vs. South Carolina Junior Team Matches….ranked sixth in the class of 2014 by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association…. finished fifth at 2013 Jimmy Self Tournament in Greenwood and was 19th at he Junior Azalea at Briar Creek….born Josh Edward Fickes on July 7, 1996 in Memphis, Tenn…majoring in business administration at Clemson.

Overview: Played in four tournaments as a true freshman and had 74.10 stroke average, sixth best on the team...will continue to challenge for playing time as a sophomore and beyond...played in three events in the fall and one in the spring during 2014-15 academic year as true freshman. Summer 2015: Played in five events over the summer…shot 224 at Palmetto Amateur to finish 56th, then shot 225 at Rice Planters to finish 76th…11th at his US Amateur qualifier with scores of 72-71…had strong performance at the Oglethorpe Invitational in Savannah in late July with a 208 score, he finished sixth….had rounds of 66-71-71…finished 18th at South Carolina Amateur in August with a 297 score at Chanticleer Country Club in Greenville… shot 73-69 in the final two rounds. 2014-15: Starter in three of the six events in the fall and played in Puerto Rico in the spring...…played in the season opener at Carpet Classic as an individual and had a 224 score…shot 223 at the Primland to finish 42nd…finished fall strong with season best 69 at the Hummingbird, good enough for a tie for third place…tied as Clemson’s best golfer at Hummingbird, helping the Tigers to the team title….seven of his 10 rounds were at 75 or better…was 22-over-par for his 10 rounds…had 4.02 average on par four holes, tied for best on the team…had 28 birdies for his 10 rounds...his score counted in 5 of 7 team rounds, including all three in Puerto Rico…hit fairways 61 percent of the time and had 66 percent GIR…averaged 30.90 putts per round. Summer 2014: Competed in five major tournaments starting with the Palmetto Amateur in early June…finished 44th at Rice Planters, he had an even par 72 in the first round…shot a 222 at the Players Amateur that was played near his hometown in Bluffton, S.C…shot 75 or better in all three rounds.
