Cleats for Kids empowers kids to live healthier lifestyles and Cleats for Kids empowers kids to live healthier lifestyles and learn life lessons through sports by providing sports shoes and learn life lessons through sports by providing sports shoes and safe equipment to kids in need. C4K’s mission engages “kids safe equipment to kids in need. C4K’s mission engages “kids helping kids”, giving them the experience of being a part of helping kids”, giving them the experience of being a part of something bigger than themselves something bigger than themselves.

Established in 2011, Cleats for Kids (C4K) started as a pile of outgrown sports equipment in the McDaniel family garage. After the McDaniels saw kids on their own children’s sports teams in need, the idea of C4K was born. Beginning with “collection drives” in the school pickup line, Stacy and Mark began filling the need of kids in their community. Each year, C4K serves more kids, in more ways and more places.

C4K has always served the Tulsa area but made a gamechanging move by opening a Tulsa office in the Fall of 2024. Since then, C4K has made shoes and equipment even more accessible for Tulsa and Northeastern Oklahoma whom previously had to drive over 2+ hours. We are also working with our partners for new sports programming focused on Tulsa and the 18 “Green Country” counties. Our Tulsa “Locker Room” has leveled the playing field for more kids to have access to sports and physical activities.

What is so special about shoes or equipment? Nothing… unless you don’t have them. Kids show up for shoes and equipment and leave with hope and excitement. If we can encourage that kid to join a team, make new friends, work a little harder at school and learn to give back when the season is over, then the ripple effect can transform a life, a family, a school, a community.

“Cleats for Kids has been a gamechanger for our soccer program at The Common Good. Many of our families in Northwest Tulsa can’t afford cleats, and C4K has helped overcome those barriers by making sure every athlete has what they need to play with confidence.

Often our kids cannot afford the basic necessities of life such as electricity, food, and clothing, let alone extras like sports equipment. Cleats for Kids has played a huge role allowing for dozens of students over the years to receive cleats and running shoes at no cost. Eliminating this cost barrier has led to numerous first goals scored, first 5ks ran, first soccer practices, first team parties, first time learning to play as a team, how to bounce back after a loss, and first time learning and believing the phrase "I can do it."
