A Parent’s Perspective
Clear Space Theatre Company has been an instrumental part of my daughter's life. Trista is a high school senior who is currently deciding between several B.F.A. programs in Musical Theatre, and I am certain she would not be at this point without this incredible organization. She was first introduced to Clear Space was she was in 3rd grade through her participation in one of their fantastic summer intensive camps. Since then, she has spent countless hours at the theatre which often was her home away from home.
Clear Space has continuously provided the perfect balance of challenge and support. The pulse of the theatre is undeniably the people who have dedicated their time and careers to this amazing organization. Whether Artistic Director David Button wanted to or not, he helped raise Trista. And trust me when I say that is no easy feat. He taught her so many lessons beyond those related to developing her craft. He provided guidance in countless circumstances when she needed a human (other than myself) to teach her life lessons. David has been there with her to share the highs of performing in fantastic shows and to celebrate the successes of her recent college acceptances. He has also been there to help her navigate life during the most challenging moments. And Musical Director Melanie Bradley changed Trista's life for the better, beyond measure. Melanie would often joke saying she discovered Trista. Really what that meant was, she believed in Trista. She saw a little girl who was filled with curiosity (i.e. she asked A LOT of questions) and a fierce drive and determination to take risks and work hard, who seemed to also have some talent when it came to singing. Melanie embraced Trista throughout their time together and not only shared her professional expertise and wisdom, but her kind soul as well. She taught Trista how to develop her voice and nurtured her to be the best human she could possibly be.
There are so many wonderful things I could write about Clear Space, but I was asked to keep it to a few paragraphs and that was not easy! Clear Space is the epitome of "Artistic endeavors of integrity and risk." I've always found this statement so moving and they effortlessly live up to it. All they have done for Trista, they do for every child who walks in their door. Their training is top notch and we soon realized there was no need to travel to NYC for camps or lessons as the instruction and experiences she received at Clear Space were at the same caliber and often better! In addition, I can't tell you how many connections Trista has made from her participation in summer shows. Clear Space's summer stock cast members have been an additional, immeasurable resource for Trista. Through them she learned about many of the college Musical Theatre programs out there. Several alumni have either been there for her by taking time to talk to her after she saw them perform in a Broadway show, or by answering her questions regarding various college programs. I was blown away at how much Trista already knew as she entered the demanding college audition process. Had she not learned from all the actors she has had the honor to work with at Clear Space, I'm not sure she would have understood the process to the extent she did, which definitely led to the offers she has in front of her now.
To all those who have led, worked, donated, taught, or performed at Clear Space Theatre Company, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The gift of your presence will continuously be paid forward, not only through Trista's contribution to the art of Musical Theatre and humanity, but to all those whose lives you have touched! We are eternally grateful.

TRISTA HARNER
is from Berlin, MD. She’s performed with Clear Space in THE LITTLE MERMAID (Ursula), FROZEN (Anna) MAMMA MIA!,
SEUSSICAL (Sour Kangaroo), JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH (Spiker), HELLO DOLLY, MARY POPPINS (Jane), FUN HOME (Small Allison), CARRIE, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, WILLY WONKA, THE WIZARD OF OZ, CINDERELLA, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and GYPSY. Trista’s been in various shows with Ocean Pines Youth Theater, her school, and sings the National Anthem across MD for fundraising and sporting events. Trista takes piano and voice lessons and has a love for competitive swimming.
RUBY QUINN
is a freshman and is excited for another performance!
Ruby’s main stage credits include ESTELLA
SCROOGE, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL (ensemble understudy), JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING … (youth ensemble), and ELF. Ruby also appeared in CST’s Spotlight on Young Performer’s GODSPELL, MATILDA (Tommy), THE LITTLE MERMAID (Flounder), EMMA!, and FROZEN JR., as well as in CST’s Saturday Children’s Theater, and various summer camps. Last year, Ruby Quinn performed in her middle school play, BUGSY MALONE (Blousy Brown). Ruby also ran sound effects for THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL. She is thankful for her family who supports her journey!
GIOVANNI PORFIDO
is a 10th grade student where he has appeared in his school’s productions of CARRIE (Freddy) and ANNE OF GREEN
GABLES (Moody MacPherson). He is happy
to be a part of DESCENDANTS and can’t wait for more in the future. He has previously been in WILLY WONKA JR (Willy Wonka), FROZEN JR (Hans & Oaken), and MATILDA (Nigel) at old schools. He also can't forget to thank his Mom and Dad for always cheering him on and letting him attend all the shows he's wanted to be in. Let's rock this show!
ZACHARY BURGER
has been an active member of the theatre program at his school for 3 years. Last year he appeared in GOD'S FAVORITE as Sidney Lipton, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE as Panch, and MAMMA MIA as Eddie. Zach is also an active member of the youth theater program as Possum Point Players in Georgetown. He was recently in Possum's production of RAGTIME. Zach is becoming a regular on the Clear Space stage, making his debut last year in GODSPELL and ESTELLA SCROOGE, and He is very excited and thankful for the opportunity to be in this cast.
ABBY WHITCOMB
aspires to a career in musical theatre and has previously performed in CARRIE (Carrie), MAMMA MIA (Tanya), SPELLING BEE (Marcy/ Choreographer), GOD’S FAVORITE (Sarah), and NOISES OFF (Brooke) at her school’s theatre program. Her Clear Space Spotlight program credits include GODSPELL, MATILDA (Mrs. Wormwood), SEUSSICAL, THE LITTLE MERMAID, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, EMMA, HONK, and FROZEN (Elsa). Chase has been in several productions at Clear Space, including JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, HONK!, ELF (Michael) , SEUSSICAL, SOUND OF MUSIC (Kurt VonTrapp), FROZEN JR, EMMA, SCROOGE!, and THE LITTLE MERMAID (Grimsby), GODSPELL (Nick/George), and ESTELLA SCROOGE (Young Pip). Chase is very excited because able to be a part of DESCENDANTS this spring. Chase loves to play guitar/ukulele, singing, and reading and would also like to thank his family, friends, and vocal coach for all of their support and help along the way.
JULIA DISABATINO
is a 9th grader at Cape Henlopen High School and is thrilled to be part of this production. Her recent credits include HONK!, ELF, SEUSSICAL, FROZEN, SCROOGE, EMMA!, and THE LITTLE MERMAID (Flotsam). In her free time, Julia takes part in her school’s soccer and basketball teams and plans to pursue her love for sports/drama through high school. She would like to thank all of the Clear Space staff members and her family for the love and support.
KATIE ROSSI
After her first time seeing an onstage production, she decided this was what she wanted to do. Theater is her passion and she can’t wait to spend more time on stage. Past shows include HIGH SCHOOL
MUSICAL, FROZEN, EMMA!, and THE LITTLE MERMAID, MATILDA (Mrs Phelps), and SPONGEBOB THE MUSICAL! She has participated in summer camps at Clear Space which include WEST SIDE STORY, SHREK JR, MATILDA, and LEGALLY BLONDE JR. When not on stage, she likes to hang out with friends and play soccer. She would like to thank her family and friends that have supported her throughout her theater journey.
GRACE LUCAS
is proud to be a part of Clear Space Theatre!
Grace’s recent credits at Clear Space include MATILDA (Bruce), ELF, and THE LITTLE MERMAID (Arista). She was also in her school play A MOTHER GOOSE COMEDY (Raven Lurch and Mrs. Spratt). Grace was previously cast as Tweeledum in ALICE IN WONDERLAND JR, the Bread Vendor in ALADDIN JR, and appeared in the Musical Theatre Summer Intensives of JACK IN THE BEANSTALK, LEGALLY BLONDE, NEWSIES, and FINDING NEMO. NEVAEH ABRAMS
is the youngest of 5 children at 13 years old, and was born in Moreno Valley, California. Nevaeh enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and taking care of her dog Leo and her bearded dragon, Gizmo. Nevaeh also enjoys painting and dance in her free time. Nevaeh is thrilled to be in another production at Clear Space. A few of her favorite shows include MATILDA (Amanda Thripp), FROZEN JR., and GODSPELL.
ZOE CULLEN
started acting in Broadway Bound program and Summer Intensive Camps, with the wonderful instructors at Clear Space Theatre Company. She made her debut on the Clear Space Stage in the 2020 production of ELF: THE MUSICAL, and was seen most recently in GODSPELL, MATILDA (Matilda), THE LITTLE MERMAID, THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Marta), and SEUSSICAL! Her favorite roles include playing Timon in THE LION KING JR and Young Elsa in FROZEN JR. Zoe is a talented piano player and she loves to bake sweets from scratch, ice skate, sing, dance, and tumble. In her family travels, she has visited Japan, France, Italy, and England
MAIRIN CURRAN is thrilled to be a part of DESCENDANTS at Clear Space! Recent productions include CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY at Milton Theatre (Mrs. Beauregard), THE LION KING JR. (Nala), and PETER PAN JR. (Wendy). She is a local 9th grader and a current voice and performance student at The Listening Booth. Before moving to Lewes in 2020, she performed with The Smyrna Opera House and The Young Actors Guild in Smyrna, Delaware.
When she isn’t performing, she is singing, painting, writing and enjoying every beautiful bit of life.
KATIE CURRY
is extremely proud to perform in her first Spotlight on Young Performers production! An 8th grader at Beacon Middle School, she has performed as Bronx Charlie in Bugsy Malone and Jacey in The Music Man. Outside of school, she has performed as Mrs. Salt in MiltonTheatre's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and multiple summer camp roles. She'd like to thank her family for always supporting her passions!
ALEX DEEMEDIO
is a junior and is so excited to be a part of this show! Most recently with Clear Space Theatre, Alex was in THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL, MATILDA, and THE LITTLE MERMAID (Scuttle), but has been performing with Clear Space for eleven years. She also is active in her school’s drama program, with some of her favorite productions being CARRIE (Sue Snell), MAMMA MIA! (Sophie Sheridan), and THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE (Olive Ostrovsky). She has also worked with Possum Point Players and Milton Theater. She has loved working with such a fun cast and hopes you enjoy the show!
MARLEY FYOCK
credits her first musical theater performance as a Pittsburgh production of LES MISERABLES at age 7. Since moving to Lewes, she has participated in many Clear Space Theater summer camp productions and Spotlights on Young Performers, as well as mainstage productions of SCROOGE and JOSEPH…….DREAMCOAT. Other favorite roles include Beacon’s BUGSY MALONE, JR. and Milton Theater’s THE LITTLE MERMAID (Sebastian).

At her school and other community theatres around Delaware, her favorite productions include WHITE CHRISTMAS (Susan Waverly), RAGTIME, THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG, PETER PAN (John), BUGSY MALONE, CARRIE, and ANNE OF GREEN GABLES (Anne). CARTER HUFFMAN
is excited to be a part of his first Spotlight show. Carter is currently the president of Possum Jrs. and is getting ready to direct their summer show INTO THE WOODS. BROOKLYN MONTGOMERY
is an 8th grader and she is very excited to be performing in one of her favorite Disney Musicals. She has participated in 4 other Spotlight on Young Performers, MATILDA, FROZEN, SEUSSICAL and LITTLE MERMAID. Brooklyn has also attended several summer camps at Clear Space including MEAN GIRLS, LEGALLY BLONDE, FROZEN, MARY POPPINS, PETER PAN and THE JUNGLE BOOK. When not on stage, Brooklyn plays junior varsity volleyball for Sussex Academy and travel volleyball for Premier. She would like to thank her Clear Space family and her family for their constant love and support.
ERIN MORGAN
is very excited to be back on the Clear Space Spotlight stage. She has been involved in numerous shows at her high school, as well as MATILDA, FROZEN JR and EMMA!: A POP MUSICAL (Trio Girl) at Clear Space. In addition, she has also participated in multiple years of AllCounty and All-State Choir. And with that said, she invites you to sit back and voilà, enjoy the show.
JOHN ROMAN NEHRBAS
is thrilled to be back on stage at Clear Space. Past shows include ELF (Michael), SCROOGE (Tiny Tim), PRISCILLA (Benji), FUN HOME (John Bechtel), A CHRISTMAS STORY (Grover Dill), MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (Thomas Mara Jr), HONK! (Billy Duckling), THE MUSIC MAN, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, WILLY WONKA, SEUSSICAL, JOSEPH, THE LITTLE MERMAID, MATILDA and GODSPELL. He also enjoys playing instruments of all sorts but most particularly the baritone saxophone and the oboe.

LIV NEHRBAS has always enjoyed performing and has used her gifts through several avenues. Olivia performed in Sussex Dance Academy’s NUTCRACKER for 3 years before making the choice to pursue musical theater. Olivia also participates in Odyssey of the Mind: her team went to the World Championships 2 years in a row winning high honors of 8th place in 2020. You would have seen Olivia on Clear Space’s stage in THE MUSIC MAN (Amaryllis), HONK! (Downy Duckling), A CHRISTMAS STORY, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, ELF, WILLY WONKA, SEUSSICAL (Cindy Lou Who), JOSEPH, THE LITTLE MERMAID, GODSPELL, and ESTELLA SCROOGE.
BROOKE RHUE
is a 16 year old girl who is now in her junior year of high school. She has been with Clear Space for over 4 years now and has loved every second of it. She has always had a passion for theatre. She has been involved in shows such as SUESSICAL, HONK, FROZEN, EMMA, SLEEPY HEAD, THE LITTLE MERMAID (Sebastian), MATILDA, SPONGEBOBOB, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, ESTELLA SCROOGE, all with Clear Space. Brooke has also been involved with her school performances of MARRY POPPINS, SHREK JR, PUFFS, GREASE, STROKE STATIC (Ruth), RADIUM GIRLS, MATILDA, THE FIRST FALL (Zoe) and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. Brooke has been involved in Dance with Sussex Dance Academy and Tada Dance Academy. Brooke has loved performing at Clear Space and hopes to continue her path of theatre through college.
ADDISON VARNEY
is a Freshman at Cape Henlopen High School. She has been involved in theatre for 2 years. Her acting credits include one of the lead roles in the BUGSY MALONE musical, playing Fat Same at Beacon Middle School. For Clear Space Theatre, she participated in the MEAN GIRLS production as Cady Heron and Ms. Norbury.
ABBI WEEKS
is excited to be a part of this production at Clear Space after his appearances in GODSPELL, EMMA!, MATILDA, FROZEN, OUR TOWN, SEUSSICAL, CARRIE, HONK (Turkey), and ELF. He was in the cast of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, the spring 2020 Spotlight on Young Performers production, which unfortunately did not run due to the pandemic. However, he has appeared as a dancer in several shows in his hometown of Ocean City, including LEGALLY BLONDE and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.
RIANA JASLEN WILLIS
is a 16 year old young actor. She is a local high school junior and is taking courses for teaching, acting, and in the medical field. She has been seen in the musical MATILDA at her school and wants to continue with acting by joining Clear Space Theater.

ELLIANNA WINDSOR
has been acting at Clear Space for over 2 years. She has been a part of the shows GODSPELL, MATILDA, HONK, SEUSSICAL, EMPERORS NEW CLOTHES, SHREK JR., MOANA JR, and FROZEN JR twice all with Clear Space. She has also been a part of her school performances in SHREK JR. (Young Fiona) and MARY POPPINS (Michael). Now in the high school, she has appeared in PUFFS (Bippy), GREASE and MATILDA. She’s excited to continue acting with Clear Space!
BRIANNA WITTMAN has participated in many shows at her school’s theatre program including MAMMA MIA! (Ali), THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE (Logainne) SHREK: THE MUSICAL (Fiona), HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL (Sharpay Evans), LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL (Brooke Wyndham), BIG RIVER (Maryjane Wilkes), THE LION,THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE (Mrs.Beaver), THE WIZARD OF OZ, SEUSSICAL, and ALICE IN WONDERLAND. She made her Clear Space debut this summer in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and SPONGEBOB. She has also appeared in YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN and GODSPELL this season. CREATIVE TEAM
DAVID BUTTON (Director) is the Artistic Director of Clear Space Theatre and teaches as a member of the Arts Institute faculty, founding the Spotlight on Young Performers program and co-founding the Summer Acting and Musical Theatre Summer Stock Intensives. He received his B.A. in Theatre with a focus on Acting and
Directing from DeSales University. David has worked regionally with the Main Street Theatre, City Theatre, the Chojinyobiko Theater Group, The Milton Theatre, and the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. He directed last season’s MISERY, DAMN YANKEES, MATILDA, NEXT TO NORMAL, KINKY BOOTS, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, SPONGEBOB, THE CEMETERY CLUB, and ESTELLA SCROOGE.
SHANE MUNZERT (Musical Director) is excited to be a part of the creative team for this show at Clear Space Theatre! Some of his recent musical direction and performance efforts include SPRING AWAKENING, GODSPELL, MATILDA, and THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. SHONDELLE GRAULICH (Choreographer) as been involved in the arts and entertain-ment industry since she started dancing at the early age of two. Dance, as her major passion in life, led Shondelle to her professions of a Dance Studio Owner/Teacher & Choreographer and Group Fitness Instructor. She teaches at Clear Space where she recently choreographed KINKY BOOTS, MATILDA, ELF, FROZEN, EMMA!, SISTER ACT, CARRIE, HONK!, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, FUN HOME, WIZARD OF OZ, PRISCILLA
QUEEN OF THE DESERT, SEUSSICAL, A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE FULL MONTY, and RADIO GAGA.
