is 18 years old and from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. A recent graduate from Cape Henlopen High School, she has been performing in theatre for over 11 years, with favorite roles including Sandy in Grease(Cape Theatre), Ariel in TheLittleMermaid(Clear Space Spotlight), Lady Larkin in OnceUponAMattress(Cape Theatre), and Elle Woods in LegallyBlonde(Milton Theatre). Julia is thrilled to be a part of Oklahoma!and looks forward to pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre in the fall of 2025. Enjoy the show!
is excited to be back at Clear Space. He was previously seen in TheBodyguardas The Stalker, SweeneyToddas Jonas Fogg, and WhiteChristmas, however he has been performing regionally for over 25 years. As a youth, he was a student at Stagedoor Manor and Baltimore School for the Arts as an Acting major. He has also been performing stand-up comedy for over a decade, sharing the stage with some of the world’s biggest acts all over the Mid-Atlantic. He lives in Rehoboth Beach with his wife and their three cats.
Thrilled to join Clear Space, Liza (not Lisa!) has sung in many European cities (with her hat out) and soloed with Metro Performs! and Zedelgem Singers (Belgium). An actual DC native, she earned a Presser Scholarship and BA in Vocal Performance (mezzo-soprano) at American University. Recent singing/dance: Victorian Lyric Opera Company, Georgetown Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and Arlington County, where she also served as the Aide to the County Board Chair. Liza is probably our first dolphin/seal/sea lion trainer. She thanks her husband, Steve, who puts up with her frequent absences for swing dancing or karaoke.

She has loved every moment of working on this beloved classic, especially along side some of her closest friends. A proud resident of Fenwick Island, Gabrielle shares her home with her beloved cat, Cucumber. ZOE CULLEN
is a 9th grader at Sussex Central High School. She made her debut on the Clear Space Stage in the 2020 production of Elf:TheMusical , and some featured roles include, Matilda (Matilda) and TheSoundOfMusic(Marta). This spring, she will be seen in BeetlejuiceJr . (Lydia) and Disaster!(Marianne) at Sussex Central. She has performed in All-County Choir and All-State Choir for 3 years. Zoe is a talented piano player and she loves to bake, run, and play guitar.

DULCENA KEMMERLIN
is a retired teacher from Milford where she taught in the district for 27 years. She has participated in many shows with Milford's Second Street Players, Possum Point Players, and Clear Space. Her appearances include BigRiver(Alice), Elf,GuessWho’ sComingtoDinner (Mary), ToKillaMockingbird,NightattheOscars,HelloDolly,Ghost:TheMusical,Footloose , and Victor/Victoria . She was most recently in KinkyBoots,MyFairLady,and TheMusicMan . Dulcena has been married for 47 years to her husband R. Anthony. They have two sons, Ralph, Jr. (aka Doc) and Prince and four beautiful grandchildren, Zoe, Mia, Luka and Caden.

ANDY NYLAND
is pleased to return to Clear Space Theater! Most recently seen in MyFairLady(Alfred Doolittle), and DamnYankees(Joe Boyd), his other featured roles include GuysAndDolls (Arvide Abernathy), LaCageAuxFolles(Albin), IntoTheWoods(Mysterious Man) and A ChristmasCarol(Ebenezer Scrooge). A native of Syracuse, NY, Andy currently lives in Salisbury, MD, with his family. He is also a trained violist, having played last year with the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra and in the pit for Salisbury Community Player’s production of SingingintheRain .

Rece has previously done shows with Possum Point Players in Georgetown (SomethingRotten), the Smyrna Opera House (Chicago,Matilda), and the Second Street Players in Milford (FunnyThing HappenedOnTheWayToTheForum,MusicMan). When not on stage, Rece can be found either performing with the Kent Chamber Choir in Dover or being the best dang cashier anyone has ever seen at the Milford Redner’s.

Brooke has done theatre at school with the shows Grease,RadiumGirls,Matilda and PrideandPrejudice . Brooke is also involved in dance and has studied with Tatiana Akinfieva Dance Academy and is currently with Dance Alley. She loves performing and hopes to continue musical theatre through college.

JOHN H. HULSE (Director)
has been part of the southern Delaware theater scene for more than 35 years. Besides Oklahoma!, John has directed such shows as ArsenicandOldLace,BigRiver,TheMusicMan,Godspell, and Peter andtheStarcatcher . John also enjoys being on stage. He has been seen in Clear Space’s Bye,ByeBirdie , and TheMousetrap , as well as many productions at Milford’s Second Street Players and Georgetown’s Possum Point Players.
JIM WEBER (MusicalDirector)
has had an active and varied career performing music for over 25 years. Trained at Westminster Choir College, Weber conducted a highly successful High School choral program for 12 years. He has been the choral contractor for both Mid-America Productions and DCINY for concerts in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and others. Weber made his Carnegie Hall vocal solo debut in 2001, and his conducting debut in 2005. An active composer, his pieces have been recorded and performed by choirs at Westminster Choir College, among many others. On faculty at Rider University, Weber teaches classes in musical theatre and coaches students privately.
MARK LENARD (Choreographer)
has been working locally since 1989, most recently as the resident Choreographer for the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus from 2011 through 2018. Mark has served as Choreographer for many regional theatrical productions, including KissMe,Kate;Jekyll&Hyde;LesMisérables;Beauty&TheBeast; TheKing&I;Grease;AnythingGoes!;TheMikado;Gypsy!;TheMysteryOfEdwinDrood;Carousel;The PiratesOfPenzance;Bye,Bye,Birdie!;TheSoundofMusic;Camelot;Guys&Dolls;OnThe 20thCentury;Oklahoma!;AndLove!Valour!Compassion! He previously choreographed for Clear Space with last season’s MyFairLady.
LORRAINE LEAVEL (CostumeDesigner)
is thrilled to be costuming at Clear Space after designing SweeneyTodd,TheProm,9to5,Grease, JamesandtheGiantPeach,TheWeddingSinger,HelloDolly!,TheAddamsFamily,TheGraduate,A ChristmasCarol , Heathers , and many others. She received her BFA in Music Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory. Lorraine has been a part of Clear Space for over a decade. She is very active in the local theatre community, on stage and off, including serving on various boards. Lorraine enjoys costuming (a skill she learned from her grandma) as well as managing the summer camp at Possum Point.

When not on stage, he teaches Preschool at Delaware Tech’s Child Development Center. Some of his recent credits include Matilda:TheMusical(Agatha Trunchbull), RadiumGirls(Edward Markley), Ragtime (Ensemble), and TheLittleMermaid(Prince Eric). He wants to thank all his family and friends for their endless love and support.
designs real houses by day and dream houses on stage in his spare time. If Ed is not catching a wave in Hawaii or Herring Point, he is building scenic elements that take us to other places. Favorite set designs include ArsenicandOldLace ; MurderontheOrientExpress ; HowtoSucceed…; OnGolden Pond ; and, most recently, OneFlewOvertheCuckoo’ sNest . Curly may enjoy riding in a surrey, but Ed loves driving his electric Fiat around town and he also has a small all-electric-powered lawn cutting service, as well, so nothing grows as high as an elephant’s eye!
has worked with Clear Space as the Lighting Designer since 2014, for which he has received multiple awards. He is mostly self-taught in the craft and refined his skills designing shows for the Dance Conservatory, Kent County Theatre Guild, Dover High School, The Schwartz Center, and Clear Space. He has two adoring sons, Jackson and Harrison.

DAVID BUTTON (Artistic Director)
is the Artistic Director of Clear Space Theatre and teaches as a member of the Arts Institute faculty, founding multiple classes including the Spotlight on Young Performers program and co-founding the Summer Acting and Musical Theatre Summer Stock Intensives. He received his B.A. in Theatre with a focus on Acting and Directing from DeSales University. David has worked regionally with the Main Street Theatre, City Theatre, the Chojinyobiko Theater Group, The Milton Theatre, and the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. He directed last season's TheMousetrap , MyFairLady , JerseyBoys , TheProm , and SweeneyTodd . joined Clear Space Theatre Company as Managing Director in late 2023. A seasoned performing arts professional, Joe has held leadership positions, as well as roles in marketing, development, and community engagement with such varied organizations as the Alliance Theater, the American Repertory Theater, Opera Theater of Saint Louis, 7 Stages, and Metro Theater Company. As a consultant, he has worked with the National Blues Museum, the documentary Flint:ThePoisoningofanAmericanCity , the Utah Symphony, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. He has taught arts management in Webster University’s MFA arts leadership program and has taught acting at Berry College. His resume as a stage director includes over two dozen productions, including regional premieres by Caryl Churchill, David Mamet, Peter Sinn Nachtreib, and Addae Moon. He is currently a member of the 2025 Longwood Foundation CatalystsTogethercohort, and was a member of the Leadership St. Louis Class of 2013 and the LEAD Atlanta Class of 2006. He is thrilled to have relocated to the Rehoboth Beach area to become part of the team at Clear Space.
