ALL ABOUT

As the sun peeks over the eastern horizon of Arizona’s Coconino Plateau, it casts a golden hue behind the towering San Francisco Peaks in the distance and sets ablaze the morning sky with vibrant colors. Reflecting off a 40-acre complex of dozens of geodesic domes nestled amongst a scattered grove of low-lying juniper trees and spilling into the surrounding high desert grasslands beyond, the scene seems otherworldly.

At the heart of the complex, is a much larger dome and a sign heralding your arrival at Clear Sky Resorts Grand Canyon. This flagship property of Clear Sky Resorts is USPS-listed as Williams, AZ but is actually located in sparsely populated Valle, Arizona, approximately twenty-nine miles south of the Grand Canyon South Rim and fifty miles northwest of Flagstaff Located near the intersection of Arizona Route 64 and U.S. Route 180, often referred to as Grand Canyon Junction, the resort is less than 30 minutes from the one of the seven natural wonders of the world – the Grand Canyon.

ABOUT US

Inspired by parents who introduced them to travel at a young age, the creators of Clear Sky Resorts developed a deep love of the great outdoors on family trips experiencing the grandeur of America's national and state parks. Fond memories of their fun childhood vacations led to the development of a new brand of resort, committed to creating one-of-a-kind experiences by combining unique accommodations at the country’s most special places.

To do that they had to first create spaces that offered all the comforts of a modern hotel room while simultaneously giving the feeling of camping outdoors under a canopy of stars. Naturally dark nights have the ability to inspire wonder and awe but visualizing the vastness of the universe is becoming rare with the growth of light pollution. Dark sky reserves and parks, the majority located in or near national and state parks, preserve and protect the cultural heritage that stories of shooting stars, comets and constellations illuminate for our children, grandchildren and future generations.

SKY DOMES

Our Sky Domes are as comfortable as they are unique. Imagine laying in a hammock on your private deck admiring the expansive northern Arizona sky and disappearing into thousands of stars at night. At the end of each day, guests drift off to sleep in a comfortable bed under a dark night sky filled with stars and awake to a spectacular sunrise through the panoramic window.

Geodesic Sky Domes are spherical structures constructed with a network of triangles creating a self-supporting framework that provides structural strength using the least possible amount of material. Each Sky Dome is climate controlled with an efficient HVAC system. Energy efficient because the ambient air flow inside is continuous with no air stagnation in corners, they require less energy to circulate air and maintain even temperatures
