ALL ABOUT

As the sun goes down over southern Utah’s Bryce Canyon Country it sets the evening sky ablaze with glowing color, backlighting the distant silhouettes of Kodachrome Basin State Park’s sandstone spires. The full volume sunset illuminates a large complex of sparkling glass geodesic domes spilling from a white sandstone canyon onto the high desert terrain. The color and beauty of red rock popping from a neighboring field of deep green match the vibrancy of the evening sky. One can only dream about what it would be like to stay here.

On August 1, 2024, Clear Sky Resorts Bryce Canyon will make dreams of a vacation at America’s first glass dome stargazing resort a reality. The second resort property of Clear Sky Resorts is in Cannonville, Utah, approximately 15 miles southeast of Bryce Canyon National Park and even closer to other jawdroppingly beautiful scenic attractions. Centrally located, the resort is the ultimate base camp for exploring the unforgettable scenery of southern Utah at Zion National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Escalante Petrified Forest State Park

ABOUT US

Inspired by parents who introduced them to travel at a young age, the creators of Clear Sky Resorts developed a deep love of the great outdoors on family trips experiencing the grandeur of America's national and state parks. Fond memories of their fun childhood vacations led to the development of a new brand of resort, committed to creating one-of-a-kind experiences by combining unique accommodations at the country’s most special places.

To do that they had to first create spaces that offered all the comforts of a modern hotel room while simultaneously giving the feeling of camping outdoors under a canopy of stars. Naturally dark night starry skies have the ability to inspire wonder and awe but visualizing the vastness of the universe is becoming rare with the growth of light pollution. Dark sky reserves and parks, the majority located in or near national and state parks, preserve and protect the cultural heritage that stories of shooting stars, comets and constellations illuminate for our children, grandchildren and future generations.

SKY DOMES

Located on Utah Highway 12, one of the most scenic roads in America, resort guests will immediately be immersed in the natural beauty of our own private 80acre canyon. Guests can soak in the stunning scenery whether indoors or out through the floor-to-ceiling panoramic glass of our Sky Domes. At the end of every adventure-filled day, you’ll drift off to sleep in an aquarium of stars and awake to a spectacular sunrise viewed from your luxuriously comfortable bed.

Geodesic Sky Domes are spherical structures constructed with a network of triangles, in this case of dual-pane low-e glass, creating a self-supporting framework that provides structural strength using the least possible amount of material. Each Sky Dome is climate controlled with an efficient HVAC system Energy efficient because the ambient air flow inside is continuous with no air stagnation in corners, they require less energy to circulate air and maintain even temperatures

Clear Sky Resorts’ Bryce Canyon has three sizes of Sky Domes that can accommodate two, four, or up to eight guests – some with sleeping lofts, some with extra amenities, some with special views and a handful with discos – yes that’s right, discos. Seemingly at odds with the tranquility of the majestic landscape, Sky Domes decorated with brightly colored retro 70’s interiors including dance floors, disco balls, laser lights and sound systems are all about offering guests unique experiences that create extraordinary vacations. To ensure the peace and quiet of other guests, disco-equipped Sky Domes use headphones to become silent discos after 10 p.m.

Named for constellations both the Lil Dipper (438 sf) and Big Dipper (610sf) Sky Domes sleep two guests in one king bed. Lil Dippers equipped with decks and firepits are called Aires and Starlinks if they have secluded enclave views. Big Dippers with secluded enclave views are called Stardusts and disco-equipped versions are called Novas.
