TRUSTED PLANT PROTECTION SOLUTIONS

Achieving spring crop growth success!

More choice for growers targeting key diseases in Oilseed rape.

Clayton offer a range of leading fungicide products for OSR crops this spring. Achieving good crop growth to maximise yields relies on effective control of damaging diseases in the spring. With effective prothioconazolebased options and a range of other fungicides, our product choice for early season disease control ensures good protection for OSR crops and more choice for growers.

Spring agronomy & disease control

A key part of good agronomic practice during the spring is to ensure a healthy crop canopy with sufficient green leaf area and light penetration when crops reach the vital flowering stage. This will ensure good pod fill and subsequent yield. Effective spring fungicide programmes are an important aspect in helping achieve this.

Products containing tebuconazole such as Clayton Navaro and Clayton Tebucon 250EW can be used effectively to manage forward crops to optimise the canopy for yield.

Light leaf spot can continue to spread in crops through the spring period from infection the previous autumn affecting leaves, stems, flowers and pods if crops are not protected. As a very damaging disease, yield losses can be extremely high. Applying follow-up fungicide sprays in the early spring period provides an important last timing slot to control the disease or minimise further yield damage caused.

Sclerotinia stem rot can also develop in crops through the spring period which can result in premature ripening, higher risk of lodging and associated yield losses.

Fungicide sprays targeting Sclerotinia in the mid to late spring period can be a vital tool for growers against this soil-borne disease.

Other later diseases which may need to be controlled by spring fungicide applications include Dark leaf spot/pod spot (Alternaria) and Ringspot. Assessing and identifying spring crops at risk of disease is vital for careful planning and good fungicide application timing to help achieve the best results.

Apply at 0.7 l/ha, for a maximum number of 2 treatments per crop at a minimum 14-day spray interval. Latest application 56 days before harvest. For Light leaf spot, depending on infection pressure, a second spray may be required in spring from stem elongation. For Sclerotinia stem rot, apply at first to full flowering.

Spring - Light leaf spot (moderate control), Sclerotinia stem rot (control).

Clayton Tebucon™ 250 EW

A reliable systemic triazole fungicide

Active Ingredients

250 g/l tebuconazole

Crops Oilseed Rape, Cereals and Peas/Beans

Use rates & timing

Target diseases

Apply at 1.0 L/ha between growth stages BBCH 20 and BBCH 69. For Light leaf spot, if disease develops over winter (and no Autumn treatment used), apply 1.0 L/ha in early spring from onset of stem extension. Or application either pre- or post-flowering will generally control late development of light leaf spot on pods and leaves. For Alternaria spp., apply 1.0 L/ha at onset of disease when black spots first appear on pods. For Sclerotinia stem rot, 1.0 L/ha applied at early to full flower will give some reduction. For Ringspot, spring/summer applications made for light leaf spot control may also give some reduction.

Spring - Light leaf spot, Sclerotinia stem rot, Dark leaf spot/pod spot (Alternaria) and Ringspot.
