Clay Seifert Born to humble beginnings in Dallas, Texas, Clay Seifert was a natural-born builder: from legoes to lincoln logs to erector sets, he never stopped making. Following an early academic career in robotics and set design, he settled on architecture as being the penultimate format for creation.

He lives and breathes sustainability and accessible design, exploring avenues for wide-spread typologic change through AI. He has no kids and no wife (yet). He would like to thank his mom and dad for disciplining him enough as a child to suceed in this field, while also letting him explore the lands he wanted to conquer.

BioCore: Bamboo and Hempcrete as a means of Facilitating and Reinvigorating Favella Development Biocore and its planter cell technology mark a significant advance in urban redevelopment, uniquely combining environmental sustainability with community enrichment. This innovative approach promotes community engagement through the integration of green spaces, enhancing urban aesthetics and mental well-being. The technology’s facilitation of community farming not only nurtures a sense of communal belonging but also plays a crucial role in environmental stewardship. Economically, Biocore stimulates local economies by encouraging the use of locally sourced materials, leading to increased property values and attracting new investments. This economic uplift is paralleled by job creation, particularly in green building and urban farming sectors.

Site Plans This typology, with its emphasis on green spaces and communal areas, not only enhances the aesthetic and ecological aspects of urban blocks but also encourages social interaction and community building. Its adaptability in design caters to the diverse needs of the city’s population, promoting denser living without sacrificing quality of life. Moreover, the focus on local materials and sustainability aligns with Mexico City’s growing emphasis on environmental responsibility and urban resilience.

Unadaulterated Biophilia.

Buildings designed with all the complexities of real nature.

Flowerfield.

These buildings are designed like nature -- curving, flowing forms, all producing a hyper-sustainable, completely synergized building community. Zero energy, zero waste, with all water filtered on-site.

This project for an Austin neighborhood involved designing the city’s first ecodistrict, a high-density, low-rise housing solution achieving net-zero energy and carbon neutrality.

This self-sustaining design, capable of processing the city’s blackwater, increases housing density from 155 to 630 units, with potential growth up to 2000+ spaces. Simultaneously, it aims to create buildings that embody nature’s essence, merging organic elements with efficient, autonomous living, resonating with the innate human affinity for natural environments.

Design III

Derived from music, for those who make it.

A Concerto, from the moment you step on site.

This concert hall’s overlapping eleptical form is derived from music -- each architectural move is a reposnse to the chord created by the layer below. Each moment creates a new measure, performing a concerto for the viewer from the moment they step on site.

The building’s aesthetic uniquely blends elements of coordinated chaos and passivity, reminiscent of a musical composition.

Its form presents a complex yet tactful balance, appearing disjointed at first glance but revealing an underlying order upon closer inspection. This design mirrors the nuances and rhythms found in music, creating a structure that embodies musicality in its very essence. The building is a visual representation of a musical journey, where chaotic elements gradually converge into a harmonious whole, reflecting an understanding of music’s subtle language.

I spent a summer drawing parking stalls. So no one would ever have to again.

Last Summer (‘23) I interned for Testfit and spent a few weeks drawing parking stalls and developing algorithms for optimized placement. I also produced the research for our PAD Retail configurator (still in Alpha). The parking configurator just released.
