Subject: Letter of Recommendation for Claudia Storelli

Date: June 22, 2022

To whom it may concern,

It gives me great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Claudia Storelli. In her role as architectural designer, being a great addition to the design team, working on a variety of projects at different phases and scales always with great commitment

In Claudia we found a personality with great flexibility, being able to work on projects from the urban scale to that of interiors, approaching the design always starting from the development of a solid concept, carrying research and proposing design solutions In our architectural team Claudia was involved in a wide range of projects at different design stages from the preliminary to final design, from the SO (Structuur Ontwerp) to the DO (Definitief Ontwerp).

Every project on its own asked for specific and new approaches, seeing that every design and its process we do is unique, from start to end. What stood out for me was that Claudia gave the feeling of trust she could fix all which was necessary. With the pressure and great amount of work we regularly face on a day to day basis, this made mine and our colleagues job easier and more efficient. She was able to provide long term planning’s and keep the overview, but also solve complex situations in any form when needed

From a personal point of view I believe that she can do great things within your, I therefore unreservedly recommend her and wish her every success in her career. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me at any time

Sincerely,

0613

THE CONCEPT

The church of Santa Margherita was built in 1190, and left closed for the last 50 years, in an almost abandoned condition, despite the good state of conservation. The purpose of the event, proposed to the Municipality of Bisceglie, was to bring the church to a new life reopening to the public with an exhibition which design aims to make the church part of the exhibition itself: thin

wooden frames host the works of art, which are floating inside them, and that are much bigger than the exhibited works, in order to frame each detail of the old church as well, from the niches to the stone romanesque lions. Therefore the frames are designed with different heights and width, depending on which part of the church is framed. The demand of stability is solved placing on the base a small local plant or a stone from the seaside.

THE CONCEPT

The strategy was to respond the brief request of designing a concert hall in the incomplete Grottole’s landmark, with a light structure that, lifting the function of concert hall on an upper level, frees the whole ground floor and provides people an open public space. In this way the space of the church, besides becoming publicly accessible, is the celebration of the state of incomplete work which the Chiesa Diruta finds itself, where nature takes entirely over. Therefore a forest of poles, together with a sturdy concrete platform, works as a continuous foundation, supporting the auditorium weight, while trees and bushes are populating the niches, acting as new natural statues.

23

INTERIORS CONCEPT

The two residential towers stand along the southern side of the Maas river, in Rotterdam, in an area that has a rich industrial past. The volumetric composition is a direct response to the site restrictions, while the facade design, which openclose ratio is also based on the proximity of the surrounding buildings, recalls the estethic of the old industrial building of the area, by the configuration of the balconies and the color of frames and panels, gold for the west tower and petrol green for the east. Thus, the interior design follows the same concept, bringing in the building the same warehouse feeling of the surrounding, balancing few tones of concrete stucco, wallpainted signage and the same color concept of the facade.

THE PROJECT

The building fits inside the new developement of the North station area of Gouda, aiming to change the current zoning plan. It hosts a program of housing combined with hotel functions and public amenities.

30

ROUTING AND FACADE

The facade and the vertical distribution have been designed in orther to accomodate efficiently housing and hotel program in the two different blocks, which overlap on 3 layers.

On the third layer the coworking program takes place, while in the public plinth the two lobbies for Hotel and housing are combined.

On the upper layers the circulation works via the same core on separate elevators, with a clear split in the layers where the two programs cohexist.

This work represents the competition project for a new school in L’Aquila for the recontruction related to the earthquake of 2009. An irregular and flexed surface works as roof for the whole structure, which is split into two buildings due to the presence of the interference by an underground water main. Two inflatable wind turbins hang over the school and intercept the strong breezes of L’aquila, feeding the water system pumps and satisfying the energetic requirements of the building.

SITEPLAN

Beulah international boldly dreams a new developement for Southbank, Melbourne. How to trascend the idea of the conventional high rise? The Next High Rise, the Stack. It adds urban space and density. It increases urban life 24/7. Developes mixage. It adds green.

It adds architectural quality. It can be viewed as part of the phenomenon of raising of global densities. The Stack is a new kind of skyscaper with stacked neighbourhoods connected from the bottom to the top. It is a true and interconnected vertical city.

Diverse. Mixed. Green. Sustainable. Human. Open. It is a manifesto that shows that urban density is great and can contribute to our planet’s survival. Welcome to The Stack.
