Hog Abu Dhabi: Harley Davidson is back with the Great Hog Events in the UAE Text Claudia Terra / Photos and vídeos HOG Abu Dhabi and Prestige Motorcycle Tours & Rentals
The Abu Dhabi Tour 2022, under the Local HOG command, is the second largest Harley-Davidson event in the United Arab Emirates since 2019. The beautiful motorcycles and motorcyclist, stylish and passionate about the adventure, are already prepared for the great party coming up in February, after a long pause since 2019. But the pause was positive and yielded the creation of HOG GCC in 2021. A regional Council that brings together all the chapters of the Arabian Gulf. The Abu Dhabi Tour, Rally Edition is an event organized by HOG Abu Dhabi, which also organized the largest HOG event in the country, the Desert Roads. Since 2019 GCC chapters have been supportive and will travel to the United Arab Emirates to attend this event. This year, the GCC Council will officially be represented at the event.
To attend the event the motorcyclist can be from any country, HOG member or not. And for those who come from far, you will have the option to rent a Harley at the largest motorcycle rental of Dubai. According to Gabrielle Bou Rached, president of HOG Abu Dhabi Chapter, has the support of Prestige Motorcycle Tours & Rentals to help the abroad motorcyclists. According to Serge Brouillet, founder of Prestige, largest UAE motorcycle rental, they always support many events in the country, the company also conducts beautiful tours by Dubai, receives tourists from several continents: "We are involved in most events as suppliers of Motorcycles. The Prestige has a great reputation with all clubs and motorcyclists. We loved the Brazilians here in Dubai. We have received many customers here from South America". There are 3 types of tickets available to participate in the rally. President Gabbi explains: "Abu Dhabi Tour has 3 ticket categories: Freebird is a ticket to attend the rides and parties, but doesn’t include hotel accommodation. Solo tickets are individual tickets and include hotel accomodation. Duo tickets include the hotel and are for 2
people, sharing a room. On the first day of the tour, guests will register and receive their event pack at Harley-Davidson Abu Dhabi from 1:00 PM. At night there will be a welcome dinner where guests will meet and mingle. On day 2, the inaugural parade will be at the Formula 1 circuit of YAS Marina, followed by a ride in the desert of Abu Dhabi. At night, the closing ceremony will be in the main hotel, Crowne Plaza Yas Island with entertainment, music, good food and honors to participating chapters. On the last day we will offer our guests the choice between optional tours or entertainment programs for those who want to relax. The event officially ends in the afternoon, however, there will be a post-event chill-out for guests who are still in the city. The event is open to all motorcyclists, no matter what your bike is, and for all clubs and individuals. All are welcome!"
Gabrielle, besides being Director of HOG Abu Dhabi (more about it here in our first report with Chapter under her command https://entusiastaadventure.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html ), is also founder and President of the HOG GCC Council (HOG Chapters of the Gulf Cooperation Council), which was created to strengthen the relations between the chapters of the Arabian Gulf and to promote cooperation. It is formed by founding HOG Directors from 5 countries, being United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, including 8 differents HOG Chapters: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jeddah, Jubail, Kuwait, Muscat, Riyadh and Qatar . The advice is a consultative tool that can help chapters individually without interfering with their internal operation. It also organizes the honorary prizes given to chapters every year. "Assuming this new challenge has been an incredibly exciting adventure for me, and it was only possible with the trust and support I received from all these brothers and chapters around the GCC. After the Council’s formation, founding members met to approve the Charter and during this session I was elected as President of HOG GCC and Salah Al Raisi (director of HOG Muscat - Oman) was elected as vice president" explains Gabrielle.
The fact that a woman is a member and president of HOG and not LOH, as usually happens in Harley chapters across the planet is still something new. It's sensational! "Yes! I think women are venturing more and more in the world of motorcycles and proved to be incredible leaders in all fields. I see no reason why there are no more female directors in HOG. And I hope my experience inspires other chapters to follow our example. I'm still Director of HOG Abu Dhabi, which I consider my little family, while HOG GCC is my great family ... and about the future of the LOH, it is officially part
of the HOG everywhere around the world. LOH is simply a platform under the official chapter, activated when there are a good number of women members for them to conduct activities in parallel with the regular activities of HOG, exclusively for women. In the chapters where there are not many women, as in Abu Dhabi, LOH is inactive. My great dream for HOG GCC! I hope that GCC becomes an official hub for motorcyclists in the region, with a great presence and international influence. Unfortunately, I have not yet connected with HOGs in South America, but I hope to host them around at the next event In Abu Dhabi. My favorite Harley? I have a Road Glide Special, 2019, in Wicked Red Denim and this is my favorite bike, of course!
About the founders and directors of HOG GCC (HOG Chapters of the Gulf Cooperation Council)
Jamil Al-Ali - Director of the Kuwait chapter. Member of HOG since 2005, approaching 17 years. Director of the chapter since 2012. The club has 200 members. His best story with Harley Davison: "My 7 year old triplets (2 girls and a boy) often argue about whose turn it is to join me on the Friday ride. One time, it was my daughter’s turn and the other two joined by car. At the meeting point they managed to hitch rides with those they call their "uncles", i.e. other HOG members, so on the same ride all three triplets were able to join me, an amicable solution for all & a great ride! Everyone was happy in the end especially me!
About HOG GCC- Collaboration: We are very united! This is the spirit of being a member of HOG, uniting people on all walks, even lifestyle that share a common passion for riding Harley motorcycles. The great benefit of HOG GCC is to promote the highest collaboration in regional chapters, sharing ideas, best practices and support to each others events. My favorite model is my first Harley, a Softail Heritage Custom, limited addition high roller theme, a one of a kind in the Middle East, as fare as I know. Salah al Raisi Chapter Director Member of HOG since 2016 and director of MUSCAT Chapter since 2018. The number of renewed members in 2022 are 65. My best story with Harley Davidson: Every moment with Harley is a happy moment, I love to ride motorcycles since my childhood but owning my own - brand new 1st Harley in 2015 was very happy moment for me as of a child finally got his dream toy. Of course, there after buying different models of Haley refresh my optimist happiness everytime. Also, riding with my family everytime makes me so happy. About HOG GCC. I think it came out at right timing and completed all the missing parts of bonding with all GCC Chapters. All these chapter shares many similarities in members mixes, nature of climate, types of road, rules and regulations .. etc. Now it become much easier to cross any of the GCC countries because you have friends in these countries. The main benefit of HOG GCC is the connection and bonding with all GCC Chapters which will definitely help in sharing various biking related factors. One good examples out of many, all Chapters can now easily communicate and coordinate their event which gives an opportunities for all of them to participate and enjoy. My Harley

Every story is a happy story, I think the delivery of my first bike and a start of the HOG membership and most recently after much anticipation getting my hands on the Pan America, the dawn of a new chapter in many ways and truly exciting!
