the cling bag collection s/s 2019 What is “Cling”?

Cling (verb) ; (of a person or animal) hold on tightly to. synonyms: hold on to, clutch, grip, grasp, clasp, attach oneself to, hang on The action - “cling(ing) to nature” is the act of grasping to the more conscious use of available sustainable materials like brass - used as hardware and accessories in the collection, the design inspired by nature - the endangered species, flora and fauna of the Philippines and creating bags maximising the use of locally available native materials - which are gifts of nature to us.

With the humble intentions of Clarisse The Label to create a lifestyle of leisure and mindful choices, the collection also hopes to raise part of the profit as funds , for the real representations of nature - the endangered species that need attendion and rehabilitation.

The collection would also like to celebrate local craftsmanship and partner communities that make our designs and our brand, larger than life- a fashion celebration that includes everyone, most especially YOU.

Araw Bag (Sun and Pineapple; Araw at Pinya) Inspired by the rays of the sun and golden pineapples, a polished brass crown translates the sun as a golden accent of the piece.

The piece also showcases the local “Banig” weave to recreate pineapple diamond-shaped details.

A lower compartment of the backpack can be your shoe’s next home for your travels, made from locally made abaca weave exclusively designed by our partner weavers in the Bicol region of the country- a piece to store your beach essentials and maybe your school books as well.

Inspired by the Red Vented Cockatoo of the Philippines, the bag creates an abstract take on the colors and features of the animal to create an interesting mix of brass plates, buttons, hardware and custom yellow “banig� fabric as accents.

The red tassle made from abaca jute takes centerstage as a flap to finish the look.

A chain handle - enabling you to wear it as a shoulder or a crossbody bag--- makes it a to-go stash bag spacious enough for everything you need.

Laya Bag ( R e d Ve n t e d Cockatoo)

03 Inspired by the Forest Turtle of the Philippines, the animal’s look is recreated as a half-moon bag with a handle adorned with hand-crocheted abaca, brass details and together with the locally woven “Litlit” striped pattern as accents.

The bag opens playfully with the front flap for your summer essentials or your clutch contents -stylish enough to dress up or dress down with a chic outfit.

Hiyas Bag (Giant Clam; Higanteng Kabibe) Inspired by the Giant Clam, the jewel of the sea is translated into a hard case clutch covered with woven “Nito” and woven “Raffia”, adorned with colorful “Abaca” Jute.

The red accent strap made of upcycled fabric with polished brass details like the buckle and button, finished with perfectly imperfect “Abaca” jute fringe creates a conversational detail --- just enough elegance to be with you during your more formal beach and summer gatherings.

Halimuyak Bag (Hibiscus Flower; Gumamela)

Inspired by the Gumamela flower, the waves of the petals are translated into the wave-like silhouette of the bag, in a more neitral shade of orange and rust “Abaca” jute as the bag’s body.

Polished brass details like the buckle with a tri-circular detail that dangles, dances with the contrasting blue colored-tassle while the hand-carved beads adorn the bag, that serves as a sturdy and stylish handle--- something playful enough for day to night carrying.

Liwayway Bag (Philippine Eagle,Agila ng Pilipinas)

Inspired by the Philippine Eagle, the animal’s grace and beauty is translated through a semi-circular and semi half-moon bag in multi-colored “Abaca” jute adorned with a polished brass piece as an abstract take on the eagle’s profile.

The locally woven diamond pattern in brown, by our partner weavers in Bicol Region, have mixed colors to be the feast of earth tones in one petite, eye candy crossbody bag.
