KARYN CLARK,CEO

The CEP is under new leadership with Karyn Clark at the helm. Karyn was born and raised in Claiborne County and only left her home county to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville for her undergraduate degree. Coming back to Claiborne County was never a question. Karyn always felt that it was the best place to live and to raise a family. Karyn comes to the CEP with two additional degrees from Lincoln Memorial University, including one in Leadership and Administration. She spent 30 years in with the Claiborne County School System as a teacher and as the principal at H.Y. Livesay Middle School. She was chosen as TriState Teacher’s Choice and as People’s Choice Best Principal three times. She is a member of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and Among American Scholars. She was also chosen by SCORE to

speak on changing culture at the Score Prize Summit. H.Y. Livesay was chosen by the state department as a reward school twice with Karyn as principal. While in education, Karyn was very active in community activities including those related to improving the quality of life in the county she calls home. She helped to restructure Student Leadership Claiborne, has been on the Leadership Claiborne board of directors for 16 years, has served three terms on the Chamber of Commerce board, was on the Parks and Recreation board, and graduated from and served on the East TN Regional Leadership board. She is also a member of Women of Service through LMU. “I want to see our community continue to grow and to see the quality of life here grow to a robust level. I come from an industrial background. My family owned and operated Quality

I want to see our current businesses grow and prosper and to see new businesses be established here. Anna Beth was born and raised in Conover, North Carolina where she attended Newton-Conover High School. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She began working for the Claiborne Economic Partnership in February 2018 as the Office Coordinator and loves her job and the opportunity to promote growth within a place she now calls home. She resides in New Tazewell with her husband Jacob who is a teacher and football coach at Claiborne High School. They are members of Twin City Baptist church.

Rob Barger is President and

CHAMBER GUIDE CEO of First Century Bank, headquartered in his hometown of Tazewell. He graduate from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor Degree and ABA School of Bank Marketing. He is also a graduate of the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking. Rob is a longtime active member of the community, serving in several capacities. He has been Chairman of the Claiborne County Economic and Community Development Board since 2011, has been on the Walters State Foundation Executive Committee since 2012 and has been a board member since 2009. He has been a member of the Tennessee Banker’s Association since 1998 and was a Director-Group One of the Young Bankers Division of the Tennessee Banker’s Association from 2001-2003. He has served as a Home Improvement Commission Licensing board member, was

a member of Leadership Claiborne’s class of 2004, served on the American Heart Association Knox County, was a Boys and Girls Club of Halls and Powell Advisory Board member, served as first vice-president of Halls Business and serves as a director on the Junior Achievement Board of Directors. Rob was a member of Leadership Knoxville’s class of 2017 and was selected for the Leadership Tennessee class of 2017-2018. Some of Rob’s honors and awards include the L. Glenn Yoakum Award of Excellence in 2016, inclusion in the Knoxville Business Journal 40 under 40 in 2012 and the Walters State Community College President’s Trust Award in 2010. Rob was chosen as the Reader’s Choice Best of the Best Boss in 2015, Bank president in 2016 and favorite boss in 2013 by readers of the Claiborne Progress.

Dustin Callahan is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Service Management. After graduating he worked for Walgreen’s as a store manager for seven years. Dustin has been with First Century Bank for the past six years and has been in banking for eight years.

Patricia (Patti) Ketterman is the President and Chief Administrative Officer of Claiborne Medical Center, a part of Covenant Health system. The hospital opened in 1959, and has served Claiborne and the surrounding counties for many years. It became part of the Covenant Health System in 2014, and it offers an array of medical specialties, updated technology and excellent customer service. The medical staff consists of 98 physicians who specialize in 13 specialty areas, and a dedicated team of employees committed to providing top-notch care to the community. In addition to the hospital, Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation Center offers short-term rehabilitation and strength conditioning after sur-

geries or hospital stays, as well as long-term care living accommodations for loved ones who can no longer live without assistance.

Jeffrey Lewis is the Vice President/Branch Manager of First State Bank of the Southeast in New Tazewell. He is a founding member and is on the board of directors for Leadership Claiborne.
