We are pleased to provide you with the 2013 Honor Roll of Donors. It is one of the ways the University conveys its appreciation for your support in helping sustain Claflin’s reputation as one of the nation’s leading institutions of higher education.

Claflin remains keenly aware of the very important role it plays in educating young men and women in a globally competitive world. Support from alumni, friends, and corporate and community partners is key to the institution’s success as a relevant influence in higher education. These gifts have also significantly bolstered the success of Claflin’s historic $96.4 million capital campaign. We are excited and pleased with achieving an annual alumni giving rate of 52.2 percent, among the best in the nation.

The CSRA Alumni Chapter was presented the award for highest chapter alumni giving during the 40th annual Claflin University International Alumni Association Convention held in April in Washington, D.C. Claflin University’s alumni giving percentage increased nearly 10 percentage points in 2013, from 43 percent to 52.2 percent. The percentage places Claflin’s alumni giving rate among the best in the nation.

The couple said they purchased the artwork at one of Rose’s famous outdoor art sales many years ago. They are now retiring and downsizingDr. their home, and decided to return the piece Claflin University.

The Wolfgang Kettlerle, who was awarded theto Nobel Prize in Physics inartwork 2001 forwas his part appraised $30,000. in theatexperimental realization of Bose-Einstein condensation, interacted with Claflin University students during a research poster presentation and delivered a lecture to the public in September.
