Lt. Albert Black
Lieutenant Albert Black earned his bachelor’s degree from Claflin University in 2007. The Brooklyn, New York, native currently serves as a lieutenant with The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety in Orangeburg, S.C. His responsibilities include supervising, training, and guiding subordinate staff in performing their duties, leading shift briefings, and performance evaluations. Since a young age, Black has been driven by a strong desire to serve his community, firmly believing that service can lead to a significant positive impact. He is dedicated to being a positive influence in the community and working towards altering the negative perception of law enforcement in urban areas. Throughout his career with Orangeburg Public Safety, Black

has contributed to solving more than 150 cases, earning numerous awards and recognition for his unwavering commitment to serving all individuals in his community and the surrounding areas. He also leverages his position to mentor adolescents in the Orangeburg area, emphasizing the importance of building positive and healthy community relationships with future leaders to foster unity and mutual understanding between the community and those who serve it. Albert is a Rotarian (Orangeburg Morning) and an active member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Manning, S.C. He serves as a deacon, an officer with the Brotherhood Ministry, and leads the Media Ministry. Black and his wife Amanda have one son, Austin.
