UP & DOWN

Hole One

This slight dog leg to the left gets tricky when you make your club selection for the second shot. If your shot is short, a gaping valley in front of the green eats your ball.

Men’s Par 4 375 Yards Ladies’ Par 4 360 Yards Handicap 7

“This first hole is indicative of what your going to find at Otter Valley. Straight away par 4, but the second shot is a deceiver because of a valley you need to hit over. If you gauge the distance right a par is still not ensured as this green has undulation that the best have trouble with. Getting off to a good start is important in golf, but hole #1 is going to make you earn it. Greg Wulf - 1 handicap member since 1999

Hole Two Men’s Par 5 516 Yards Ladies’ Par 5 482 Yards Handicap 5

HIT AWAY The wide fairway on this par 5 is deceiving, heavy rough around the green proves to be nasty for those who try and get home in two.

“When I started golfing in 1989, ladies played from the men’s tee boxes and par was almost impossible. But since the new tee box, the hole is fun because now I can reach the corner of the dog leg.” Angie McConnell - member since 1989

Hole Three Men’s Par 4 343 Yards Ladies’ Par 4 313 Yards Handicap 15

HEAD EAST This tricky par 4 decides who is buying the refreshments after three holes. A fairway bunker and a sloping green make this hole a challenge.

“#3 is a nice hole, I’ve even birdied out of the sand” Ed Diekevers - member since 1974

STRAIGHT AWAY This par 4 runs directly South, big hitters must be aware of the fairway bunker when the wind is out of the North.

Hole Four Men’s Par 4 365 Yards Ladies’ Par 4 327 Yards Handicap 11

“#4 is a difficult driving hole, straight away tee shot is a must. Any second shot left finds a steep ditch, you must favor the right side of the green. There is plenty of slope on the green so par is never easy.” Ken Kruse - member since 1973

Hole Five Men’s Par 4 374 Yards Ladies’ Par 4 342 Yards Handicap 9

LOOKS EASY This dog leg plays harder than it looks with heavy forest for the slicer and a pond on the left for the smackers.

“#5 is my favorite, I love this hole. It’s down hill all the way, my best chance to birdie” Ed Heyer - member since 1974

BIG LEAGUE

Hole Six

This par 3 is a champ, play 205 yards with water on the left and huge cotton woods on the right that are real grabbers.

Men’s Par 3 205 Yards Ladies’ Par 3 173 Yards Handicap 3

“#6 appears easy as it opens up greatly around the large domed green. Don’t be deceived as an accurate tee onto the green doesn’t allow par easily. It can steal a par off your score card quickly, unless you can accurately register the speed and break of your putt.” Ron Damstra - member since 1973

LONG HAUL

Hole Seven

This long par 5 won’t give you trouble if you hit the ball straight, but with an out-of-bounds on the left, golfers often see snowmen on the card from this hole.

Men’s Par 5 533 Yards Ladies’ Par 5 433 Yards Handicap 1

“#7; a great hole for the long ball hitter.” Brenda Jurrens - member since 1995

Hole Eight Men’s Par 4 365 Yards Ladies’ Par 4 333 Yards Handicap 13

THE FOREST If you slice this one you’ll wish you had a chain saw in your bag.

“#8 is a great hole, but get into the woods and it’s one you’ll love to hate.” Dean Oldenkamp - member since 1991

SHORTY

Hole Nine

Don’t let this short one fool you. This short par 3 cards more bogeys then pars.

Men’s Par 3 110 Yards Ladies’ Par 3 95 Yards Handicap 17

“#9; it’s a tricky par 3 that usually decides who’s buying breakfast on Sunday morning.” Lanny Winter - member since 1977
