The Jewish New Year is approaching, with the holi‐ days beginning at sundown on October 2. Volunteers are always needed to assist residents during services at Lieberman Center (Skokie) for the following duties:  Transport or escort residents  Distribute prayer booklets, prayer shawls and kipot  Assist residents to find pages in book  Sit with residents who need reassurance or support

Dog Pals Program Grows at CJE SeniorLife Animals are known to have a positive effect on the healing process, and because of this, we welcome trained, certified dogs and their owners to CJE. We are working with Therapy Dogs International and Pet Partners to allow approved and certified dogs to visit our facilities. Take advantage of this opportunity to visit with your dog. It’ll be good for our residents, it’ll be good for your dog and it’ll be good for you!

Spotlight — A visit from Camp Tov Lieberman Center residents were delighted by two vis‐ its with campers from Fed‐ erationʹs Camp Tov pro‐ gram last month. Campers interviewed and presented stories developed with resi‐ dents, provided manicures and designed blankets.

As you know, our new Volgistics computer sys‐ tem is in place at many of our sites. It is im‐ portant that you sign in and out of the Volgistics computer program so we can track volunteer hours and know who is in the building at all times. If you do not have access to Volgistics please check with your supervisor for sign in and sign out procedures.

Health Matters Flu season is approach‐ ing. To help avoid the flu we encourage you to get a flu shot. Please do not volunteer if you are not feeling well.
