Fact sheet Location: Etosha National Park GPS coordinates: 19°10'43.36"S 15°55'8.55"E Type: Camp LOCATION Okaukuejo is the main area of tourist activity inside Etosha National Park, and with its flood-lit waterhole, where visitors can observe at close quarters a spectacle of wildlife congregating and interacting; it is aptly known as the “Wildlife Theatre”.

Okaukuejo, located 17 km from the southern entrance of the park, was the first tourist camp to open in Etosha. The camp can be reached by driving north from Outjo on the C38. This road leads to Etosha National Park's Andersson Gate - and from here it is only a few 'game viewing' kilometers to Okaukuejo ACCOMMODATION Accommodation is provided to suit every need, in premier double-storey waterhole chalets with balconies overlooking the waterhole; waterhole bush chalet double rooms, bush chalets, family chalets and double rooms.

Premier Waterhole Chalet: double story chalet with a balcony overlooking the waterhole. Two bedrooms, downstairs with 2 single beds and upstairs with a queen size double. Lounge area, fridge and teastation Family Chalet: self-catering unit with two bedrooms, kitchenette and braai (barbeque) area Waterhole Chalet: situated close to the waterhole these are comfortable double rooms with en-suite bathroom, fridge & tea-station Bush Chalet: 2 bed chalet with one bedroom, bathroom, lounge area & braai. Equipped with fridge & tea station Double Room: room with en-suite bathroom, fridge & tea station Camping

THINGS TO DO 

Okaukuejo waterhole: Okaukuejo is famous for its flood-lit waterhole, where visitors can observe at close quarters a spectacle of wildlife congregating and interacting.

Guided night drives: providing visitors with an opportunity to experience an entirely different side of Etosha’s wildlife treasures.

Morning and afternoon guided drives are also on offer. All guided drives are conducted in specially modified land-rovers, using experienced guides who will help you discover the wonders of nature, both big and small.

Wildlife Photography: Take out your best lens – Okaukuejo is not known as “Namibia’s Wildlife Theatre” for nothing.

PRICING          

Rack rates include 15% VAT and Tourism levies.

Rack rates are subject to change without prior notice and are subject to NWR’s terms and conditions.

Children under the age of 6 stay free of charge.

Children 6-12 years old pay 50% on rack rate, not commissionable.

Participation of children under the age of 6 in guided activities is at the discretion of the Camp Manager and cannot therefore be pre-booked. Such participation is at the risk of the parent/guardian.

Provision for children will be made upon arrival; however the booking must be made in advance.

No more than two children may share a room with their parents.

Disabled access units are available at a number of our facilities – please enquire and specify when booking.

Tour operators, both in Namibia and abroad, qualify for commission at the discretion of NWR. Meals are non-commissionable.
