City Wanderer Has an Ambition To create a supportive educational and social environment that inspires every young person to find their passion worth pursuing for a lifetime, and through actions of self-realization, create a better world. Hence, we not only provide our own exploration programs to young people, we also proactively cooperate with industry, government, and academia, to develop possibilities for various programs of exploration.We seek to convene the power of cross-sector collaboration, so as to co-create a better future for young people.

Inspire: City Wanderer Wandering Challenge 啟 蒙 : 流 浪 挑 戰 賽

全球唯一的體驗教育模式 流浪挑戰賽 設計讓三名年輕人組成一隊,走出校 門,把城市當教室,在三週的過程當中到各個角落去挑戰完成30項任務。 這些任務讓年輕人們訓練自我突破的勇氣、接觸多元的社會階層與弱勢群體 、並思考以創新的方式嘗試改變。透過流浪挑戰賽遊戲化的教育體驗,年輕 人培養出對世界的使命感,在勇敢追尋自己熱情的同時讓世界更好。

"Wandering Challenge", an unique experiential education model in the world, designs for young people to form a team of three, walk out of the school gate and use the city as their classroom, to complete 30 missions in 3 weeks. These missions allow young people to cultivate their courage, reach diverse social and underprivileged groups, and think about innovative ways to change the world. Through the gamified educational experience of the Wandering Challenge, young people gain a sense of purpose to make the world a better place while bravely pursuing their passion.

The missions of the Wandering Challenge are categorized into four dimensions, cultivating eight abilities: Self-Awareness: develop self-awareness and self-development Adventure & Challenge: develop self-breakthrough and perseverance Connection Rebuilding: develop communication and interpersonal skills Social Participation: develop empathy care and civic responsibility

Inspire: City Wanderer Wandering Challenge 啟 蒙 : 流 浪 挑 戰 賽

我認真地感受每個擁抱, 心與心最接近的距離。 在挑戰Free hug時,我覺得非常沮喪,覺得我在完成一件任務,而不是真 的想要帶給別人溫暖和感動。 我與隊友在路邊討論了起來,我們真的要繼續這樣下去嗎?當我們想放棄 時,突然旁邊出現了一個剛剛我們抱過的人。 他說:「想感謝你們,其實現在正值低潮期,但因為給了我一個擁抱,讓 我覺得在這個城市還是有人關心我的,所以才帶著飲料回來找你們。」 聽完後,我覺得好慚愧好想哭,於是告訴他我們的瓶頸:覺得無法再完成

"I tried to sense and engrave every single hug, to feel the closest distance between two hearts.� When I challenged Free hug, I felt frustrated. I was completing a mission, rather than wanting to bring warmth and touch to others. I discussed it with my teammates on the roadside. Do we really want to continue this way? As we were about to give up, someone from our previous hug suddenly came right beside us. He said, "I want to thank you. My life just hit rock bottom, but because I was given a hug by you, I felt that someone in this city still cared about me, so I came back to you with drinks." After listening to him, I felt ashamed and wanted to cry, so I told him our bottleneck situation: we didn’t want to complete the mission anymore, but he told me firmly that he felt the warmth and that helped him a lot. He hoped we could continue. My friend and I decided to go along and this special someone stayed with us to complete the mission. This time, I tried to sense and engrave every single hug, to feel the closest distance between two hearts. I rediscovered that feeling and that touching moment. I didn’t care about how many photos we need to take for the mission, I just hope that I can bring little moments of warmth to the lives around me through my hugs, and I felt very happy.

Inspire: City Wanderer Wandering Challenge 啟 蒙 : 流 浪 挑 戰 賽 服 務 成 效

在成效問卷中可得知,參賽者就自我覺察、冒險挑戰、連結再造、社會參 與所欲培養之自我評估知能平均都有5-11%的成長,實際訪談也發現參賽 者普遍有以下面向的顯著成長:

親自參與社會 透過挑戰賽的任務,參與年輕人更有機會為他們所關心的社會議題付諸 行動。曾有參賽隊伍在執行任務過程中融入對愛滋病的宣導,2018年亦 有隊伍將同志議題納入任務內容,向社會大眾推廣尊重多元的理念。

強化人際關係 參賽者完成挑戰賽任務後,在同理心、面對自我與家人之勇氣以及關係 的強化和連結皆有所改變與思考,曾有不少參賽隊伍透過任務教導家人 使用科技產品,強化家庭成員之間的溝通。

Impact

感受到被啟發 「活動中,不敢說找到了夢想、找到了自己、找到了動力,但至少我們 不再是完全的『沒有』。即使還沒順利完成全部任務,卻也給我們不少 收穫,以及無可取代的經驗。已完成的任務,將在我們的心中不斷發酵 ,化為人生之佳釀。」引自2018年參賽者,參賽者找到繼續面對未來人 生的動力以及自信。

It can be shown from the questionnaire that participants’ traits and abilities in the 4 dimensions has grown by an average of 5-11%. Actual interviews also found out that participants generally have significant growth in various aspects mentioned below:

Participate in social issues Through the missions, young participants have a better chance to take action on social issues they care about. Some participating teams have incorporated AIDS awareness in the course of performing tasks. In 2018, some teams also included LGBT issues in tasks to promote the concept of respect and diversity towards the general public.

Strengthen social relationships After completing the challenge, participants changed their perspectives on empathy and courage to face themselves and their families, and the connections of their relationships strengthened.

Inspire and become motivated "During the event, I wouldn’t say that we have found our dream, ourselves, and motivation; however, we no longer have "nothing". Even if we have not completed all the missions successfully, it still enlightened us with irreplaceable experience. The completed missions will continue to ferment in our hearts and become the best wine of life. " - 2018 participant who have found motivation and confidence to continue to face the future of life.

In the next few years, City Wanderer aims to collaborate with partners from all sectors and fields, to establish a supportive ecosystem that encourages youth to explore diverse ways of self-actualization. We firmly believe that, in order to inspire every youth to find their passion and purpose, we need system-wide impact , and our mindset in education and social values need to shift. To achieve this, it is not enough to have merely the power of one organization, we need the collective power from schools, government, corporations, NGOs etc, to create real institutional change. Only through such cross-sector collaboration would we be able to inspire our students to make suitable choices for their schools, majors and careers, and ultimately make meaningful contributions in the world with drive and passion.
