TOP TIPS Asking killer questions Ensure to turn up prepared with questions that will help you decide if a particular organisation is the one for you. These might be about work culture, long-term career prospects, opportunities to work internationally and opportunities for professional qualifications. You may also wish to ask questions about recent news stories or big issues facing a particular organisation or industry. Avoid asking questions which are easily answered with basic research.

This interactive session will be hosted by Michael Anderson, an M&A partner at BCLP with over 25 years’ experience working on M&A and investment transactions across various sectors. In this workshop, Michael will talk through a number of real-life transactions which will be used as case studies to understand what is meant by commercial awareness. Michael will focus on how to demonstrate commercial acumen during the recruitment process and the importance of continuing to do so throughout your career as a trainee and beyond.

Are you interested in pursuing a career in international development, but not sure where to start? London International Development Centre (LIDC) are running this interactive breakout session to give you practical tips on how to get your foot in the door. As well as covering how to write a successful job application, this workshop will also cover which skills are needed most and how internships can help develop these.
