Online Registration

Go to the website and select 'Register Online' 1.

Click 'Activities' to shop for classes and activities 2. Click 'Enroll Now' to register for your session 3 Sign In or Create Account 4

The system will walk you through the steps to select participants and check out Processing fees may apply

Phone Registration

Call us at 330-263-5207 during operational hours 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday to register 1.

Residents who qualify for a Scholarship rate must register in person and show proof of care source/free reduced lunch or other need based assistance at the time of registration

Registrations may be completed in person at the Wooster Recreation and Community Center during operational hours 1. 8:30a-4:30pm, Monday - Friday

An after hours/weekend drop box is available at the front door as well.

Registration Deadline

Registration deadlines vary for each class Please note the registration deadline in this brochure and on the registration forms Classes not meeting minimum enrollment by the registration deadline may be cancelled You may still try to register after the deadline has passed Please call the office to see if any spots are still open for the particular program you are interested in

Cancellations and Refunds

Wooster Recreation reserves the right to cancel/combine classes with insufficient registration If a class is cancelled, you will be notified prior to the class and will receive a full refund, credit or transfer to another class

To cancel a registration, call 330-263-5207 at least 5 business days before the program begins Refunds, transfers or credits will only be issued if the participant cancels a minimum of 5 days in advance Online processing fees are non refundable Refunds, less a $7 processing fee, are processed within three weeks. NO REFUNDS are given after a class has begun

If cancellation is approved, it will be prorated based on number of classes already attended

Full Classes and Wait Lists

The online system will automatically show customers when a class reaches maximum enrollment In select instances, a wait list option will allow patrons to sign up in case of cancellations or an added session You will only be contacted if there is an opening! PLEASE NOTE that your credit card WILL be charged when you add your name the waitlist online. This is non-refundable if we are not able to register you for the class. Please call 330-263-5207 to be placed on a waitlist without a charge

Scholarships

Youth Scholarships:

Youths who LIVE within the Wooster City limits, AND

Qualify for free or reduced lunches, Caresource, or income qualify are able to participate in recreation activities at a reduced rate The discount rate varies from program to program and all scholarships must be processed in person at the Community Center

Senior Scholarships:

Senior Adults (55+) who qualify may participate in activities at a reduced rate. Please inquire at the front desk about how to apply

Resident

Does ANY of the following: LIVES/WORKS WITHIN the corporation limits of Wooster, PAYS CITY INCOME TAXES, OWNS PROPERTY within the city limits OR is an individual living in one's household who does one of the previously listed, he/she is considered a Resident. Residentsqualifyforareducedrateforprograms,events&activities

NonResident

If one LIVES OUTSIDE the corporation limits of Wooster AND does NOT have anyone living in one's household who WORKS within the corporation limits of Wooster, OWNS PROPERTY within the corporation limits, or PAYS CITY INCOME TAXES, he/she is considered a Non-Resident.

ADA/Special Populations

Wooster Recreation encourages participation by persons of all disabilities. If you will need special accommodations in order to participate in our programs, please contact us at 330-263-5207 so we can discuss your needs.

02 Proof of Age

Children must meet the age requirement by the start date of the class. Wooster Recreation reserves the right to request proof of age if needed.

Photo Release

By registering for, participating in, or attending any Wooster Recreation Department program you agree to allow publication o any photos taken at any program event or facility of the City of Wooster Recreation Departmen

Bad Weather

For weather related cancellations call the Weather Line at 330-263-5203 at least one half hour prior to your programs scheduled start time.

SPORTS

Youth Sports

RECREATIONAL SPORTS AGE CLASSIFICATION

For the majority of our leagues, we classify our offerings by age or grade. Unless otherwise noted in program descriptions, the age calculation date for all youth sports programs will be calculated by the first contact day.

Our Policy

WAIVER + LINDSAY'S LAW

Players MUST have an updated Youth Waiver and Lindsay's Law Waiver on file yearly.

Registration

Registrations for all leagues will be accepted from when the league's registration opens through the registration deadline or until maximum capacity has been reached. League practice dates, times and locations are subject to change.

Uniform

Some youth programs include a game jersey or T-shirt. It will be listed on registration if jerseys or T-shirts are provided. Additional items are not provided unless otherwise noted. If participant submits wrong sizing, they are responsible for replacement costs.

Coaching

All youth teams are coached by parent volunteers. If you are interested in coaching, please contact recreation@woosteroh.com.

Coaching Requirements

Volunteer coaches must have familiarity the with sport they are coaching. A Background Check must be completed and approved. A current concussion certification is also required.

Officials

Soccer and Basketball officials are needed for the upcoming seasons. If you are interested in being a paid official, go to woosteroh.com/recreation to complete availability forms.

PAVILION RENTALS

Park pavilions are available for reservation from April 1st - October 31st

Please call the Recreation Department for pricing and reservations at (330) 263-5207.

Pavilions for the 2025 season can be reserved starting January 2nd, 2025

Unless reserved, park pavilions are available on a first come, first serve basis. Due to the chance of inclement weather, restroom and electric availability are not guaranteed in April or October Pavilion reservations will not be refunded for any reason (Covid-19, Weather etc)
