20 Years of REAL Success

The REAL Program has been offering recreation and leisure experiences to St. John’s children and youth in financial need for over 20 years. The REAL Program has made over 30,000 placements, allowing children and youth to participate in their desired program. These placements would not be possible without the support from our partners and sponsors.

REAL People – REAL Need

United Way, VOCM Cares Foundation and Sandbox Gaming have provided the REAL Program with funding over the years and continue to help REAL break down financial barriers to participation. We would like to thank all our recreation and funding partners that have showed their continued support to children in need.

As the economy changes, and more families find themselves struggling, the need for REAL Program support is increasing. The REAL Program is a non-profit program that relies on sourcing funds through grants, fundraisers and donations. The City of St. John’s provides office space and staff support so that 100% of all funds raised or donated go to the cost of programs, equipment and transportation for applicants.

How You Can Help Recreation Groups

Help us give children the chance to participate by providing a discounted or free program space to our participants. Recreation, leisure and leadership programs include but are not limited to music, art, science, sport, fitness, dance and youth leadership.

Organizations

There are many ways organizations can support REAL: provide funding through corporate sponsorship, host an event or fundraise and choose the REAL Program as the recipient or give your employees the opportunity to donate through regular payroll deductions.

Individuals

Give a donation or donate in honour of someone special.

Recycle for REAL
