Local Volunteers Play an Important Role

For over 20 years, the award-winning Ambassador program has played an essential role in welcoming cruise passengers to our city. Ambassadors are local volunteers and are the first to greet passengers and crew upon arrival in the Port of St. John’s. They are located dockside to provide maps, tourism information, directions and to answer any questions. There are about 20 volunteers who are a part of the Ambassador program who are known for going above and beyond to ensure the passengers and crew have a memorable stay in St. John’s.

The City of St. John’s is looking for volunteers to join the Ambassador program. If you are a people person and passionate about all that our city has to offer, please reach out to Kim Cooper at kcooper@stjohns.ca. The next training session is scheduled for May 2023.
