The City of St. John’s is excited to welcome approximately 36 cruise ships this summer which includes five inaugural ships and three ships with an overnight stay. The first cruise ship of the season, the Norwegian Dawn, is schedule to arrive on April 24 with approximately 3,000 passengers.

The City works collaboratively with the St. John’s Port Authority, Cruise NL and local tourism and hospitality partners to ensure visitors have an enjoyable experience in St. John’s. This includes a dockside welcome with a temporary taxi stand, musical entertainment, Newfoundland dogs and local volunteer ambassadors.

The economic impact of these visits, particular on home port and overnight stays, are not only felt in the tourism and hospitality industry but across a wide range of industries throughout the region.

Parking is limited on Harbour Drive during cruise ship visits to accommodate tour operators and other passenger transportation. However, parking remains available in other areas throughout the downtown.

Please note: cruise ship visits may be cancelled or postponed at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, including marine conditions and ship schedules.
