ActivAge™ is a free group-led physical activity program for inactive older adults. It introduces participants to physical activity and reinforces their commitment to incorporate it into their daily lives. The program is progressive with planned physical activities (stretching, activity, and cool-down) based on ActivAge™ training. This fun and social program will help get participants moving in a relaxed environment with likeminded people. The program focuses on improving activities associated with daily living, strengthening muscles used day-today. Each class incorporates physical activities that engage participants, and features in-class discussions and resources to improve overall health and physical well-being.

Stronger Together Walk & Talk

Ages: 19 & up
In partnership with the BCEHS Community Paramedicine Program this engaging and supportive walking program is designed for graduates of the Brave Hearts Cardiac Rehabilitation program. Participants will walk the paved pathway around the Complex as well as the Millennium Park trails, while discussing current concerns and supporting each other.
Formerly the Brave Hearts Walk & Talk, this program has now expanded to included people living with a variety of chronic health conditions.
Mondays from 10:00 - 11:00am FREE

Location: The group will meet in the Elm Room for a warm-up before they go outside to walk. (Maple room June 13 & June 20)

Postnatal Fitness

Ages: 16 & up
This program will take you through cardiovascular exercise, muscular conditioning, flexibility and core work specifically for the postpartum body. Learn how to safely return to exercise, meet other new parents and bond with your baby through activity. All fitness levels are welcome. For safety reasons, please bring only pre-mobile babies.

Megan Rivest was born and raised in the beautiful community of Powell River where she had the opportunity to play soccer, be a part of the Powell River Aquatic Club and participate in Highland Dancing. Fitness has always been a part of her life and she continues to maintain a balanced fitness routine. Megan attended Vancouver Island University majoring in Sport Health and Physical Education, from there she received a bachelors of education degree and a masters in educational leadership. During her schooling, Megan became a group fitness instructor, weight room supervisor and pre and post natal fitness specialist. Megan hopes to bring her knowledge of health and wellness to all groups wanting to improve their fitness.
