Program Guide April - September 2025

DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

Can you BEE-lieve that spring is almost here? Well believe it! This year we will be hosting the first annual Oxford Bee Festival on April 12, 2025, in addition to the O.A.T.S. & Honey 5K/10K Event. Want to learn more of what all this buzz is about? Check out the Special Events section or visit www.cityofoxford.org/beefestival!

In addition to a brand new event, don’t fur-get to visit the new dog park, called Barkham Park, located at 5211 Bonham Road. We’re paws-itive you’ll love it, as it’s ruff-ly triple the size of the old dog park! Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

Speaking of new…. we’re also excited about some new faces that have joined the Parks and Recreation team the past few months. Welcome to our preschool teacher, Miss Katie Teets and new Sports Coordinator, Alec Gagnon. Despite some new staff, the mission of enhancing the quality of life of the Oxford community through our programs, sports and parks remains exactly the same.

And lastly, it’s very bittersweet to announce this will be the last Director’s Message I write for Oxford Parks & Recreation. After 17 years of being blessed, honored and privileged to serve this amazing community, I am moving on to a new, but very similar, role with the City of Eaton. This community has been so wonderful to me and to Parks and Recreation. I’ve met so many outstanding people and built so many meaningful relationships here, and I will forever be thankful to this community. While I won’t be working here any longer after March 14th, I’ll certainly visit and stay in touch. Oxford has a permanent place in my heart.

And since it’s the first year of the Oxford Bee Festival, it seems fitting to leave you all with a quote from Winnie the Pooh: “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard?” But it’s not goodbye, it’s see you later!

Make sure to follow us on Social Media for updates and new programming information! @OxfordPRD @oxfordaquaticcenter
