Jonesboro Cardinals to Perform in Chicago The Jonesboro High School Majestic Marching Cardinals have been invited to participate in the 2019 Chicago Thanksgiving Parade on November 28th! They will be marching down State Street on Thanksgiving Day in front of a record crowd as well as an audience of people watching at home. The total cost of the trip is $628 per student, with a total cost of $56,440. The Cardinals need our help in order to make this dream happen. The Buzz on Bees *Bees buzz when threatened, during courtship & pollination. *Georgia has 500 species of bees, including bumblebees and carpenter bees. *In most plants, bees easily gather pollen, but in others such as blueberries, huckleberries, some wildflowers and some garden vegetables, buzz pollination is crucial. To get this pollen, the bee may bite, hang on vigorously, vibrate their muscles, producing a high pitched buzz. *Bees load the pollen behind their hind legs and carry it to their nests to feed larvae. *Some pollen clings to their bodies and gets deposited in other flowers that they visit. Thus, bees perform cross pollination that eventually results in mature fruits and vegetables!
