Register for an Irving Parks and Recreation (IPAR) Membership Card:
1) An IPAR Card is required for all participants to register for classes.
2) To obtain an IPAR card, visit a neighborhood recreation center to have your photo taken. The card will be printed on-site.

Register for Classes:
1) Must have an IPAR Card to register.
2) Visit IrvingTX.gov/IrvingRec to access the ActiveNet website.
3) Register for an account or sign in to an existing account. For a new membership, information is needed for head of household and each family member registering for classes.
4) Follow instructions for selecting classes for each individual. Classes will be added to the shopping cart.
5) Complete transaction and make payment online using a credit card.


Courses labeled with are engaging and educational classes ideal for homeschool students, but open to all. No proof of homeschooling required.

Parks and Recreation offers two types of memberships: A basic which is required to use the recreation center, and one for fitness which is required to enter the fitness rooms at each facility. Members can use any recreation center.
Autopay is available through ActiveNet for annual IPAR and Fitness memberships and After School Programs, both online and in-person. For more information, call a neighborhood recreation center. Membership ID cards can be printed at any recreation center. Must have a valid photo ID as proof of residency.

Become a certified lifeguard. Irving Parks and Recreation hires Red Cross-certified lifeguards, ages 15 and older for part- and full-time summer and year-round positions at its aquatic facilities.
Blended learning combines online coursework with in-person skills sessions. Complete all eLearning modules, including the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid exam, at least two days before your first skills session. The eLearning portion takes about 7 hours. Bring proof of completion. Successful participants earn American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.
