HUMAN RESOURCES ANNUAL REPORT

The following pages present a statistical perspective of the status of City employees and activities that shaped our employee workforce as of Dec. 31, 2024.

HUMAN RESOURCES SUMMARY

The Human Resource Department is responsible for managing and assisting with all employee-related matters, including policy administration, recruitment and selection, benefits administration, employment and labor law oversight, new employee orientation, training and organizational development, personnel records retention, classification and compensation administration, safety, health and wellness programs and the employee assistance program. HR staff works closely with City departments to support and respond to their needs.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

As we reflect on the past year, we present our annual report with great pride, highlighting the significant strides we have made in enhancing employee engagement within the city. In response to our 2023 Employee Engagement survey results, we have embarked on a journey to foster a workplace culture prioritizing connection, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Our commitment to employee engagement has been evident through various initiatives aimed at promoting well-being, recognition, and professional development. From an innovative on-site employee clinic, enhanced wellness programs, employee engagement activities, and recognition celebrations, we have actively sought to create an environment where every employee feels valued and appreciated.

This report summarizes the work the Human Resources Department managed and completed during 2024. It highlights specific activities and outcomes of our engagement efforts and showcases how they have contributed to a more motivated and cohesive workforce. As we move forward, we remain dedicated to listening to our employees’ needs and adapting our strategies to ensure our workplace thrives.
