Summary/Purpose To provide Council with an analysis of the financial position of the City of Greater Bendigo as at 31 March 2013, and to enable a review of the forecast financial position for 30 June 2013. Policy Context Council Plan 2009-2013 (2012) states: 4.1 Delivery of responsible financial management and business planning practices to ensure long term sustainability. At least every three months, the Chief Executive Officer must ensure that a statement comparing the budgeted revenue and expenditure for the financial year with the actual revenue and expenditure to date is presented to the Council at a Council meeting which is open to the public.
Report This report provides an update on the financial performance in comparison to the adopted budget for the 2012/13 financial year. The report also provides a financial forecast for up to 30 June 2013, together with an analysis and recommendations. The information contained in this report was considered by the Council’s Finance Committee at its meeting on May 2, 2013. 1.

City of Greater Bendigo's (CoGB) operating result for the first three quarters of the financial year is $1,004,605 favourable to budget as at 31 March 2013.
