City Partners with Sheriff’s Station to Launch Commercial Safety Program
In a bid to improve safety in the business community, the City last month launched a program in partnership with the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Station.

The program involves a year-long effort to host a meetup at every shopping center in the city.
At these meetups, Diamond Bar Sheriff’s deputies will be providing crime prevention training, scheduling free security assessments, and helping interested individuals with starting a Business Watch group in their area. The meetups, which will be held 9-11 a.m. on Thursdays, are open to anyone who owns, manages, or operates a business in Diamond Bar.
Upcoming dates include August 3 near Albertson's (1235 S. Diamond Bar Blvd.), August 17 near Smart & Final (240 S. Diamond Bar Blvd.), August 31 near Oak Tree Lanes (990 N. Diamond Bar Blvd.), September 14 near H-Mart (2825 S. Diamond Bar Blvd.), and September 28 near World Market (21080 Golden Springs Drive).

Armed Forces Banner Program Accepting Applications
The second of two annual deadlines for Diamond Bar residents to honor an immediate family member serving on active duty in the United States military through the City’s Armed Forces Banner Program is coming up.
Friday, September 1 is the cutoff date to submit a request to have a banner personalized with a loved one’s name and military branch. Banner installations will occur in November. Applications received after September 1 will be part of the next round of requests, with banners going up in May 2024. Complete participation requirements and an online application form are available online at www.diamondbarca.gov/armedforces or by calling the City’s Parks and Recreation Division at (909) 839-7067.
The same online form can be used to inform the City when an honoree is no longer on active service. Retired banners are taken down at the same time new banners are hung, and honorees or their family member(s) can choose to pick it up or have it presented to them during the City’s Veterans Recognition ceremony in November.
