Preschool Tiny Tots

3-4Y

This is where it all begins! The Cupertino Preschool Tiny Tots program encourages social development through group activities and play. Class activities include a mix of music and singing, learning the alphabet, finger plays, stories, and circle time. We encourage exploration and learn about our emotions and our world around us. Using imaginary play, we teach about our neighbors, holiday traditions and much more. Art in a variety of forms is part of our daily activities. We also value physical play and incorporate it into our every day. Preschool Room at Quinlan Community Center Codes

How is a Tyrannosaurs Rex different from a Triceratops? Is it just in their physical characteristics or is it also what they ate and when they lived? In Discovering Dinosaurs, your little paleontologists will explore what dinosaurs ate and when they lived while constructing their very own dinosaur model out of DUPLO® blocks. Through stories, building, and games, your little learners will be busy exploring the prehistoric world while gaining critical social and developmental skills without even realizing it! This camp is a perfect mixture of fun and learning! We will use hands on learning to introduce our youngest engineers to fundamental concepts of solids, liquids, and solutions. Students investigate the properties of several crazy concoctions and make their own samples of bubbles, play dough, flub, and more! For the other half of the day, we explore Robotics using LEGO® WeDo Robots. Using LEGO® bricks, students build various robots. They also learn how to program and operate their creations using a laptop computer or tablet. There will be a 30 min supervised lunch. Students bring their own lunch, snack and water bottle. Material fee $60. Social Room at Quinlan Community Center Codes

Engineering Fun in the Sun and Programming

5-8Y

This is a fun way to stimulate engineering and instill a life-long respect for nature. Our camp is designed to captivate, engage and challenge young people, building environmental knowledge and values. It is designed for our budding engineers to be inspired by the world around us and take on all sorts of challenges. Students in this camp save endangered animals, engineer ways to help plants grow and create protection for people from the sun's heat. They also investigate natural processes like erosion, animal adaptations, and plant growth. For the other half of the day, students will learn the basics of programming using Scratch! They explore the universe of programming by sending a diver to the ocean floor to defend the ocean's fish and reefs from sharks and pollution. Creating a new program each day, students leave with evidence of their wild under water adventure on their very own Engineering For Kids flash-drive! The first half of the day is spent on hands on building. Taking home at least 3 of their very own masterpieces, everyone comes out a winner! Material fee $60.

Ready! Rally! Play! Beg-Int Tennis

7-15Y

READY! Our entry level is focused on developing the skills necessary to play the sport of tennis. We focus on fun activities that develop technique, ball striking, tracking, racket control and footwork. RALLY! This level continues the tennis journey by focusing on rallying and ball control. Players will continue to develop technique using the ball and court size appropriate for their age and level. Players should be able to hold a simple rally and get their serve in consistently before moving on to PLAY! The PLAY level places an emphasis on the skills necessary to play a real match. Coaches will continue to develop modern swing techniques as players focus on movement and ball control. Players graduating from the PLAY! level can demonstrate the skills necessary to play a match at the Orange or Green Ball level and are ready to move into our Junior Development family of classes or try-out for the Competition Training program.
