Keep an eye on your pest control… and bin lids closed

Keeping your premises clean, and food stored in sealed containers and off the floor will help to discourage rodents, and other unwanted pests, like cockroaches and flies.

Don’t forget to clean in those easy-to-miss spots such as: under cooking equipment and benches, shelving and in and around any electrical equipment. After a pest control visit, check the report for any service recommendations from your pest controller. They may not have directly advised you of all the issues that may need some attention.

Keeping outside bin areas in a clean and tidy condition and bin lids closed is essential in helping to deter rodents and other foraging pests from making their way into your kitchen.

If a bin doesn’t have a lid, don’t use it for rubbish. Make sure your bin lids are kept closed and bins are regularly washed and cleaned thoroughly to help reduce odours that can attract rats and potentially become a nuisance to your neighbours.
