The state government has approved a plan to build an installation that will help prevent traffic from building up on either side of the Hussain Sagar lake.

The installation is a six-lane bridge which will commence from a spot opposite the Marriot Hotel and cost Rs. 25 crores.

The construction of a second bridge in the area is scheduled to be completed soon! The new bridge will help lessen traffic congestion because people who live near Banjara Hills Road Number 3 can now easily cross over to Punjagutta without getting stuck.

DURGAM CHERUVU BRIDGE

T

he Durgam Cheruvu bridge is yet another beautiful landmark of Hyderabad that was built by the construction giant Larsen & Toubro (L& T). It’s 435 meters long and 25.8 meters wide!

The Durgam Cheruvu bridge opening ceremony took place under fireworks with dazzling lights that illuminated the surroundings of the lake which is located in the bustling business district of Hitech city. This bridge is yet another jewel added to Telangana’s city of pearls.

It cost approximately INR 650 crore to construct and was opened by Telangana’s minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, KT Rama Rao, in September 2020.

The ceremony took place during auspicious celebrations that incorporated dazzling fireworks over the span.

The Durgam Cheruvu Traversing Hanging Cable Bridge is one of the many incredible feats of infrastructure that’s come out of India. The bridge has the world’s longest cable

The Department of Municipal Administration in its 2020-21 short-term plans approved Rs. 858 crore for the development of bridges, expansion of Nallas and preservation of water bodies and lakes in Hyderabad. Part of this plan directed towards improving the storm water drain system in Hyderabad. The developmental works have been divided into 25 packages

which come under six zones within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

The Government has allocated large sums of money towards flood prevention techniques in the wake of last year’s rainfall disasters. It is said that the government has approved Rs 30

Crore for Bandlaguda Cherukuri to Nagol Cherukuri surplus channel and Nalla (Channel).

Similarly, Rs 56.34 Cr has been approved for Saroornagar Lake to Chaitanyapur works. An amount of Rs 12 Cr has been approved for Balkapur Nalla.

They recently began building the Punjagutta Steel Bridge that will be completed soon.

It’s unusual for Hyderabad to see such activiteis at this time of year, but thankfully Kondapochamma Sagar offers limited-time activities that will allow you to enjoy the outdoors (and not hug your desk) even in the cooler temperatures.

The Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir also happens to be a popular fishing spot due to

its tranquil surroundings and copious variety of fish available - trout, catfish, carp, chital etc.

Residents are glad to finally have another place to enjoy themselves. Departments are willing to chip in if it comes down to providing the basic infrastructure facilities needed.

n BEST TIME TO VISIT KONDAPOCHAMMA Ideally, Pick a sunny weekday to get the best experience overall. Also it gets a little crowded during weekends, so pick a weekday early afternoon to have the place almost to yourself.

A Bengaluru man recently moved to Hyderabad and went to Konda Pochamma, a reservoir that is relatively close to the city. While he had thought it would be small like many of the water bodies near his home town, he was pleasantly surprised by the spectacular sight of its gigantic expanse. On top of that, there were several schemes around the perimeter

which provided welcome shade in addition to providing welcome relief from the hard hot sun above during the day. He also enjoyed being able to walk along both sides of either bank with ease thanks to good pathways for people with disabilities that are clearly marked out on both sides.

I am a BMS graduate pursuing MBA. I think amidst all the hustle bustle that I undergo to keep up with my studies and work deadlines, my blogging has been like a therapeutic activity. I am a hardcore foodie and a passionate food blogger. Blogging about food has not only helped me document the different cuisines that I get to try but has also helped me connect and network with new and exciting bloggers. I believe when you love doing something with all your heart, success finds its way to you.

How did you become a Blogger?

I always loved to explore new places and try different cuisines and then I thought why not document my journey and share it with people. Initially I was sceptical and low on confidence but my mom (Mrs. Yasmeen) helped me realize my potential and gave me that needed push.

What are your goals?

I aspire to own my business in the F&B sector someday.

I think my blogging journey has sort of pushed me into this direction further.

Was there a time in your career when you felt like you wanted to give up? What did you do to move past it?

Ofcourse! There was a time when I felt lost and couldn’t come up with anything new. My follower count was stuck at 2000 and it was tempting to quit and forget all about it.

I took a little vacation and came back with a fresh mind, and I think it helped me a lot to come up with fresh content.

Furthermore, it was the perseverance and consistency that has helped me reach the 20,000 followers mark.

Who are your mentors?

I was highly inspired by Mr HFD,his work and his story.

However I had no set mentor.It was a trial and error process and each individual I encountered through my journey taught me something or the other.It was mostly a process where I observed work of amazing and talented bloggers and other helpful videos and tried applying them into action.

What was your vision when you started? Is it different today?

My vision then and now remains the same - To do what I love and help my followers in all the ways possible through my content.

I hesitantly started this page in Oct 2018 being quite sure that other than friends and family I’ll not get any likes. I’m glad to say, in these three years I’ve made lots of friends here who have become my family!

I have definitely improved in many aspects of my posting, starting from taking good pictures to write ups. I have a long way to go to get all uber professional, but still, as they say, “always see how far you’ve come, rather than how far you have to go” some wise man said it..or woman or I made it up don’t think that matters as long as the message is conveyed!

Well, that’s about me and my page. A happygo-lucky person who doesn’t sweat over the small stuff, loves traditional food and lives

Signing off with one of my favourite recipes, the best traditional dish I could choose to show off.

Mumbri - Bharth This is a traditional combination dosh famous in the North Canara belt of Karnataka, siddapur-sirsi-sagar side.

Mumbri stands for a flatbread made using coarsely ground rice flour, milk, ghee and coconut gratings. It is mixed to form a pattable dough, which is patted on fresh banana leaves and the roasted on the tava along with the leaves. The roasting of the leaves tenders an amazing aroma and flavour to the bread. In older times this used to be roasted in a tandoor called as Mumber and hence the name Mumbri.

It’s best partner and company is Bharth.

Bharth is made by roasting the brinjal whole on the fire and then peeling it and mashing it and mixing it with a coconut and spices paste.

Together these two items make the best dish! If you don’t trust me, try it out today!

Mumbri INGREDIENTS • 1 cup rice flour • 1/4 cup milk • 2 tbsp ghee • 2 tbsp of fresh cream/malai (optional, this makes it amazingly soft and yum though) • 1/4 cup coconut gratings • Salt to taste.

• A few tbsp of water to get the dough to right consistency • A few fresh banana-leaves

DIRECTIONS • In a wide bowl add the rice flour, coconut gratings, ghee and salt. Mix well. Add the milk and mix. If required add a few spoons fo water to get the dough to a semi solid pattable consistency.

• On a wide banana leaf take a handful of the dough and pat it to a circle about 1/2 mm thickness. Cover another banana leaf and press it well.

• Heat a tava to smoking hot. Place the Mumbri on it along with the leaf.

Bharth INGREDIENTS • 1 big purple brinjal • 1/4 cup coconut • 2 green chillies • A small piece of tamarind • Salt to taste.

• Oil as required

DIRECTIONS • Apply oil on a big brinjal.

• Roast one side until you get a nice aroma. Flip

n HYDERABAD POLICE COMMISSIONER Revealed that a special program called ‘Ek Shaam, Charminar ke Naam’ will be launched twice every month.

This event will take place twice every Sunday starting from 7 pm to 10 pm.

The first edition of ‘Ek Shaam Charminar ke Naam’ was a huge success as it drew in thousands at the historic precinct on Sunday . In fact, as the book gave a telling insight into the shared history of trade and conflict between Hyderabad and its neighboring states, it seems there is even more to look forward to from this dynamic duo.

Thousands of people flocked to the Heritage Precinct at Charminar on Sunday. The event, saw many families enjoying performances by local artists of all ages.

Describe your experience in the industry.

Inspired by bodybuilding, I started my journey of fitness training in the year 2016.

From the age of about 8, I always knew I wanted to get muscles. I did not know how to.

I would say though bodybuilding is tough, but nothing can tear your motivation down once you make up your mind.

Why did you decide to become a fitness model?

I guess it’s because I have good proportions and shape. I look athletic and healthy while carrying a decent amount of muscle. Also, being blessed with a photogenic face adds up to my features of becoming a fitness model.

How do you keep your fitness knowledge up to date?

No one is born with the knowledge of how to get from A to B, so those who simply learn everything they can to get to B sum to get there.

Also, I believe adding gup little every day to our knowledge enables us to remain up to date.

What do you see as your - Greatest Strenght: “Love” is an integral part of our lives and yes, love from my family and friends has helped me a lot to reach where I am today.

- Weakness: I believe a true champion is willing to push the hardest over and over without giving up, always having his or her eye on the goal. So, this is the reason I have lost contact with many friends and also was unable to focus on my business career.
