Mathew 5:16
“Let YOUR light so shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
2. Tabitha’s good works weren’t complex and lofty; she simply used what she was good at to meet a need she saw. Often times we overcomplicate being a light-bearer! Let’s ask ourselves some simple questions: What are you good at? What needs do you see? What captures your heart? What are you curious about?
Acts 9:36 (TPT)
She lived her life doing kind things for others and serving the poor.
3. Tabitha helped clothe people in dignity, value, and worth who otherwise had been classifed as marginalized, vulnerable, and shamed. Who do you know in your life who is clothing themselves in garments that are unbecoming and were not meant for them? How can you practically help them see the garments they are worthy of wearing?
Acts 9:39 (TPT)
One after another showed him the tunics and other garments that Tabitha had made to bless others.
4. Tabitha’s life didn’t go completely as planned, yet God used the detour of her unexpected circumstances to bring about a miracle for others. What area have you considered a weakness or a failure, thus deeming you unqualifed to be included in God’s purposes? What area(s) is God asking you to “Rise Up” so you can be a part of someone else’s life-change?
Acts 9:40-42 (TPT)
Turning to the dead body, he said, “Tabitha, rise up!” At once she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up. He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Ten he called for the believers and all the widows to come and see that she was alive! Te news spread all over the city of Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.
