You may have noticed more people wearing masks lately.

Just like superheroes who wear masks, we can all wear masks to protect our city.

Staying home, coughing into your elbow, washing your hands, and wearing a mask--these are all things we can do to help stop germs from spreading and keep people healthy.

Have you seen anyone wearing a mask? It looks different.

It might be a little confusing, or funny, or maybe a little scary.

But it is something that people are doing to be kind and take care of each other.

People wear masks when they are healthy and when they are sick. It’s a good idea for everyone to wear a mask when they’re outside so they don’t share germs.

Lindsay made masks out of scarves she has at home. They are all different colors! She folds them up and uses hair ties to put them on her ears. They cover her nose and mouth.

Robin’s friend Tia made her a mask. Tia makes masks in four sizes and uses adjustable elastic so they feel comfortable for kids and grown-ups. We all have different shaped heads, ears, and faces, so it’s important to wear a mask that fits just right.

Megan made masks with her sewing machine. She cut up old clothes that don’t ďŹ t anymore and sewed the fabric into masks.

She even made a small mask for Harry and Harry’s stuffed animal.

When someone wears a mask, you can’t see their nose and mouth, but they can still breathe and talk.

They are still the same person, even though they look different.

Sometimes it’s hard to know right away if someone wearing a mask is making a friendly face. You can look at people's eyes and eyebrows when they are wearing a mask, and this sometimes helps you know if they are smiling or not.

Mona wears a mask when she checks the mail.

She also wears a mask when she takes Tadeo out on his scooter.

Nelle wears a mask when she rides her bike around Jersey City.

Katrina wears a mask when she walks her dogs Georgia and Frida.

Wearing a mask is an important way we can take care of each other!
