HELIX ONE WESTFERRY CIRCUS DONATIONS TO OUTREACH
from What's New
During the Month of April, our ESG Manager, Jordy Mukudi, helped organise a collection of bed sheets, duvets, towels, pillows, and beds for the charity, Outreach, to assist with homelessness. Our ESG manager accompanied Helix’s Building Manager Louise Cook, where the items were collected on two separate days and were distributed to local hostels. Although this donation was not directly from CIS, CIS is always willing to assist with our clients’ donations where we can as this aligns with our ethos of inspiring citizenship.

Here East Waste and Recycling training session
Our ESG Manager, Jordy Mukudi, was invited to Here East on the 4th of May as part of a service partner collaboration to upskill relevant service partner staff at Here East on ESG as a whole. The session started off with the Senior cleaning Contract Manager, Jo Beta, at Here East explaining the approaches of waste and recycling within the site, then followed the waste and recycling contractor giving a high-level training session on the type of items which could be recycled once taken from Here East.
Our ESG manager concluded with a ESG awareness presentation which covered each of the ESG pillars, giving examples of how the service partners could implement initiatives to achieve success within each of the ESG pillars. This was the first ESG external consultancy service to be provided to a service partner, which will continue to grow in the coming months, helping external organisations achieve best practice.
EY foundation partnership
In the month of April, CIS partnered with The EY Foundation, which is an independent UK charity who support young people who face significant barriers to employment. Their approach is to bring young people and employers together to close the skills gap between UK business and hidden talent, bringing young people from diverse and low-income backgrounds closer to employers seeking new talent.
The scheme is called ‘Secure Futures’ and it provides paid employability skills training, paid work experience and business mentoring, which forms part of a 10-month programme for young people aged 16-17.
Our dedicated staff members who have opted to become a mentor consist of Key Account Director, Domingo Desousa, Account Manager, Wayne NYE Jones, Account Manager, Terence Coates and Head of Security, John Reynolds.
CIS is committed to increasing local employability while embracing Equality, diversity & inclusion. Our partnership with the scheme aligns with our commitment towards some of the 17 sustainable development goals such as: 4. Quality education; 8. Good work and Economic Growth; and 10. Reduced inequalities.
