Sarnath Devoción III
Mixed media 79 x 59 cm
Chilean artist, Roxana Werner has been actively creating and exhibiting her work in group and solo shows in Chile and abroad. An especially meaningful event was her project “El Porqué de Valparaíso” held at UNESCO in Paris, France as well as XII Florence Biennale, XIII Florence Biennale. Her work is included in prestigious art books that are internationally distributed in museums and galleries and sold online.
“Experiencing in situ the geographical and ethnographic spaces is vital to connect emotionally and intellectually with the painting. I have traversed the Atacama Desert, the Saltpeter Towns, Valparaíso, India and the Southeast Asian to later recreate and interpret them in the solitude of my studio. My work consists of four major projects developed throughout my career: ‘El Porqué de Valparaíso’, ‘La Huella del Tiempo’, ‘Del Salitre a Iquique’ and ‘Vivencias mas Aca y mas Alla de la Frontera’.”

More Than A Bad Feeling
“As an artist I shall defend to the utmost, whilst I still have the strength, the values of my painting, independently of my female condition. I have a strong and original temperament, an immense artistic sensitivity, am pathologically emotional, alternate between states of happiness and living sadness drowned in misery, am very conscious of my surroundings, and to create expressions of the outside which describe the essential, I look inside.”

It’s a kind of a stream of information that passes through the artist as if through a portal. “My name is Shelby Lynne, and I’m the artist behind Shaking Bird Art! I’m an artist, an Aspie, a square peg in a world of round holes. Trying to be kind and kind of strange, sometimes making progress, sometimes making a mess, but always trying to improve! I enjoy working in a variety of me with their ability to capture and portray the vivid colors and details of our natural world!”

“Finding most of my inspiration in nature, my work is translating impressions and emotions onto the canvas. Multiple layers of paint and rough textures at the heart of each artwork are embracing the beauty of decay by including rusty or cracked elements. This essence of my work is largely inspired by the Japanese concept of Wabi-

“Doing art, for me, is a mystical process, a spiritual work, and an exercise of creativity. When I paint, it is as if the veil of common life is momentarily lifted, allowing me to be embraced by the underlying essence of the universe. My art is the result of sporadic surges of energy that percolate past my consciousness. Using paint, I create images showing the interplay between darkness and light, the interconnected aura of the natural world, I consider my artistic expression a gift to be shared.” https://peternvangiesen.com

“I’m always in search of new paths and visions of photography, because there is vast room for experimentation and presentation of new work. This artwork here is a part of my new project called “Monotypes”, which I do with plants and some of my photos. I think creativity is a state of mind on which we can try many ways of art.”

“The work is a confrontation of the self, of the inner chaos and incessant chatter that threatens to dissolve our strength and sanity. To remain on autopilot, to feel anxiety so distinctly in the body because the mind won’t make the time. To take a sober look at what the internal landscape feels like, holding up a black mirror, so to speak, but not without an undertone of humility.”

There are also more unusual processes generating a sense of nostalgia about moments that are both beautiful and painful.
