This annual guide serves as a valuable resource for area businesses and events. Additionally, we hope visitors discover what an amazing community we have to offer. In this directory, you can learn about our schools, parks, new developments, and the best places to eat, shop, and play, as well as stay up to date on the latest happenings. We continue to enjoy our partnership with Cincinnati Magazine and look forward to providing you with a first-class publication as an incredible resource.

The Little Miami River Chamber Alliance serves businesses and the community in three key areas: the City of Loveland, Symmes Township, and Miami Township. Recently, we have also had the pleasure of working with businesses in nearby communities.

We take pride in supporting these surrounding areas as they grow and prosper. Our goal is to encourage residents to Start, Stay, and Play in our communities. New homes, new businesses, and revamped parks and infrastructure keep our area safe and thriving.

LOVELAND Residential Development The city has seen a trend toward infill residential development in recent years as vacant parcels are being developed, especially those in proximity to the city’s downtown business district.

Currently the city has one active subdivision, Chimney Ridge, in the Warren County portion of the city. This development was the site for the 2022 Homearama and has been progressing well.

Commercial Historic Downtown Loveland is the anchor to the city and has seen many projects over the past five years with a new parking lot in 2024 and ongoing improvements to Nisbet Park. The city is now turning its focus toward downtown streetscape improvements with sidewalks, lighting, and trees.

As the city continues to work on the downtown business district, it has also begun a revitalization of the Loveland-Madeira Road Business Corridor with lighting, walkability, and streetscaping. The city owns a key piece of land off the road referred to as the Chestnut Street Development. Grants for most of the project have been secured and the Assistant City Manager will work to complete the

remainder of the funding. This development likely will include commercial space.

Infrastructure The city has been actively making infrastructure improvements, with an emphasis on water main replacement and construction of new sidewalks as was a goal of city council. Connectivity among our residents was a priority of the city’s 2022 Comprehensive Master Plan, and since 2023, the city has converted $1.7 million into new sidewalks, with more planed.

In 2024, the city worked with Hamilton and Clermont County to repair and replace the bridges on both East Loveland and West Loveland Avenue. These projects also included new sidewalks and stormwater improvements.

SYMMES TOWNSHIP Residential Development Symmes is a premier residential community located in Hamilton County, Ohio. Symmes offers three excellent school systems (Indian Hill, Sycamore, and Loveland) and zero earnings tax to residents. The suburban setting with businesses conveniently located nearby makes it ideal for all families. Residents enjoy community events throughout the

year in more than 197 acres of sprawling park space. Look for some family friendly events this year (see www.symmestownship.org for a complete list of events). Outstanding police and fire services, excellent schools, and a thriving business community make the area attractive for all.

Infrastructure Plans are being reviewed to replace the outdated township administrative building. The new building will better meet the township’s needs and offer more space. The township plans to continue with beautification along entry points throughout the township with new landscaping and signage.

Maintenance will continue in the parks.

The township plans to replace the playground equipment near the Shady Shelter at Symmes Park in late 2025.

Engineering work is being undertaken for new sidewalks on Hopewell Road and Montgomery Road. Construction should begin shortly for sidewalks on Fields Ertel Road and continued sections of Union Cemetery Road.

MIAMI TOWNSHIP Residential Development Miami Township is family-friendly, with a unique blend of residential and business areas combined with excellent parks and recreational facilities. Miami Township currently has three primary single family residential subdivisions under development, Grove Park (213 units), Primrose Creek (47 units), and Hawley Farms (60 units). Two multifamily projects are either approved or under review as well, with a projected 660 combined units. In addition, the Park View development by Fischer Homes (284 units) is about one-half completed, providing popular owner-occupied duplexes for sale as well as some stacked condominium units. Infrastructure Miami Township continually has improvement projects going on related to roads, sidewalks, and hillside stabilization for commercial and residential areas. The Township is responsible for the maintenance of over 156 miles of local roadways. Many of the current residential and commercial development projects require new roadway access or sidewalks as part of their construction or redevelopment, and we are happy to partner with these developers to add more pedestrian connectivity to the Township.

Business Miami Township has a vibrant mix of commercial and light industrial businesses, including many small businesses that are the backbone of the community. A new small business accelerator development

is planned for the area of Wolfpen-Pleasant Hill Road and U.S. 50 that will present an opportunity for many businesses that are starting in local homes to move to their first flex-office space. Additionally, the new Aldi development has additional adjacent land that will create opportunities for new retailers or businesses to build off their success and the installation of one of the newest public roadways in the Township.

Miami Township’s Community Development Department works with residents, business owners, and developers to ensure that all new construction, additions, and property improvements meet the guidelines specified in the Miami Township Zoning Resolution, Vision 2025 Comprehensive Plan, and 2023 Land Use Plan. The Community Development Department is also responsible for on-site enforcement of the Township’s Property Maintenance Code and is ready to assist any resident or business with any question they may have.

Ways to Play and Stay Engaged

ll work and no play is not a problem in the Little Miami River Region.

The 75-mile Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail, which runs from Springfield to Newtown, is an iconic regional attraction, thanks to the Little Miami Conservancy, which worked to fund the trail’s creation and now helps clean, protect, and monitor water safety along the river.

Renovations, like a replacement of the pedestrian bridge over O’Bannon Creek, have enriched the trail’s experience. Its route through Downtown Loveland, a designated “Buckeye Trail Town,” takes

you closer to shopping and dining.

Of course, the bike trail isn’t the only way to stay active here. Team sports enthusiasts will love Grand Sands Volleyball, a 14-court, year-round indoor/ outdoor beach volleyball facility. Brush up on your serve during open court hours or join one of the club’s seasonal competitive leagues.

Prefer to focus exclusively on pickleball? Arizona-based Pickleball Kingdom is building a massive pickleball facility in the former Bova Contemporary Furniture facility at 12130 Royal Point Dr. in Symmes Township. The franchise, billed

as the world’s largest indoor pickleball entity, is slated to open later this year.

Golfers can tee off at the O’Bannon Creek Golf Club, set amid the natural beauty of woods, streams, lakes, and rolling hills, or join the Oasis Golf Club, where members enjoy a par 72, 18-hole course designed by Arnold Palmer. The club’s Conference Center is a favorite destination for weddings and meetings.

Loveland Paddle Sports can get you and your family on the water for a paddle past another iconic sight: Château Laroche. This authentic, full-scale castle was built brick by brick by Cincinnati native Harry Andrews. He began construction in 1929 and spent the next 50 years working on his masterpiece, using stones from the Little Miami River and hand-molded bricks made of cement shaped in quart milk cartons.

Since 1980, community theater group Loveland Stage Company has been entertaining audiences with popular musicals and shows—and the group’s summer program lets community kids put on a show of their own. Adults of all ages looking for enrichment can find classes and activities at the Lifelong Learning Center at the Miami Township Civic Center, from arts and crafts to wellness programs and computer classes.

The State of the Region Update kicks off the New Year with city and township updates so residents and visitors alike can be on the pulse of what’s new and noteworthy. During the year, the calendar is filled with iconic events. The Hearts Afire Weekend brings ice sculptures and heartwarming events to snow-filled February, celebrating Loveland’s claim to fame as the “Sweetheart Capital of the U.S.” In addition to the Chamber’s Road to Health Expo, summer traditions include the Loveland Food Truck Rally, and Independence Day Celebration, while fall fans adore area festivals such as the Chamber’s Oktoberfest, Fall For Symmes, and Blooms and Berries Fall on the Farm. (And don’t forget the Chamber’s Loveland Frogman Race in September!) Wrapping up the year, Christmas in Loveland is an exuberant celebration of the holidays, complete with a visit from The Man in Red himself.
