FORT THOMAS – A youth theater aligned with Fort Thomas Independent Schools is breaking away to become a year-round Northern Kentucky independent theater Commonwealth Artists Student Theatre (CAST)

is the only independent theater group around Cincinnati specifically for high school students, artistic director Jason Burgess said. CAST will expand from a school-affiliated summer theater to a nonprofit. As many as four shows per year will eventually be produced by CAST at theaters around Northern Kentucky. This summer’s 97 students from 19 Kentucky

and Cincinnati high schools will present six musical performances of “Les Misérables School Edition” July 21-30 at Highlands High School in Fort Thomas. FORT THOMAS – New faces are getting to be the norm in top positions at Fort Thomas Independent Schools this summer. New Superintendent Karen Cheser already knew two new assistant superintendents needed to be hired before she

started work July 1. Now, a replacement principal is needed for Highlands. Fort Thomas’ only high school is ranked third-best in Kentucky by U.S. News & World Report.
