NATIONAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

One of CIMSA’s most anticipated annual events, National Leadership Summit, was held online for the first time in history this year. Despite the limitations caused by the pandemic, we, CIMSA Universitas Indonesia as the host, tried to make the best out of the circumstances. This unprecedented online NLS took place on February 18th— 21st 2021, where 810 delegates from 27 universities came together by online meeting. Through this year’s theme, “Enhancing Medical Students’ Capacity as an Actor and an Advocate for the 2030 SDGs Agenda through Annual Mission Statements and Policy Documents”, we aspire to realize CIMSA’s vision to improve nation’s health and empower medical students.

Other than empowering CIMSA’s members, National leadership summit also expose national officials to the members, with the aim to prepare for the next regeneration. National leadership summit provides a media for members to participate in training, general

issues update, grand lectures, games, and other activities, in the means to build members’ capacities. Not only about formal agendas, NLS also has many fun agenda for members to get to know and bond with members from different locals. The delegates also played amusing games that were prepared by the host. The aim was to introduce delegates to Jakarta and its culture even though we can’t gather and visit Jakarta together on this year’s NLS.

All in all, it is safe to say that the 2021 National Leadership Summit went well. It was a fun and memorable experience for us, CIMSA UI as the host. We hope that we can make memories together again in the future, though hopefully not just through the screens. We thank every organizing committee and delegates for making the 2021 National Leadership Summit an exciting and vibrant event.
